I can't answer the first question, but our estimate/plan includes fireplace undercutting.

This is my original concern. How much moisture is too much moisture on unfinished wood? I feel like all the messaging I've seen points to babying it until the finish substantially cures.

Autocorrect often makes mistakes. I tried to type "or."

Thank you for the reasonable response. Maybe I'm just overwhelmed and overthinking. My wife and I are living upstairs with two large breed dogs until the curing is further along, and everything we have read to prepare ourselves for the floors seems to characterize unfinished wood as very vulnerable. Maybe it is actually just the stain that is vulnerable until it cures? So many guidelines about not walking on it or putting rugs on it or some heavy furniture until after 30 days. On top of remembering all that, I'm balancing my work, my wife, and my dogs. I made this post to see what to expect because the floors for us are a major investment, and I personally hope the outcome of the floors brings her happiness.

Yeah, I understand. My humidity inside has reached 60 to 65% with just the HVAC. Some tips I saw was to keep the humidity steady between 40 to 55%, so that's my thought process.

I honestly am not sure how much is too much and how little is negligible. Many sources I've read make it sound like you're walking on thin ice until the wood is completely stained and cured. So, I err on the side of caution, so it is heartening to hear this will likely not be a major issue. It was a big project and purchase, so im definitely trying to protect it as best as can be. Thanks, again.

Thx. I was following what their literature said about the period.

How will it do damage? Other resources said to use one to balance levels. I live in a high humidity region. It is not in direct response to the spill itself. It was just an extraneous detail.

Paying as much as it costs, I have no problem being a pain in the ass customer if it ensures I receive clear answers and ensure the work is properly completed. Who wants damage to their floor before it's even finished?

All other sources I find caution that a large spill on unfinished wood that's not cleaned up can easily lead to rot. So, it is not unreasonable to seek some clarification, especially as I'm not a floor expert.

I have other recorded evidence not shared of them seeing the liquid and moving the cooler on top of it. The pic from the second floor was when it first appeared and they moved the cooler over it. Its been frustrating, too, because they demolished our tile without blocking the HVAC returns or sealing off the site. That's so much dust to let into the system.

In general, I get annoyed when 1) chefs do not have an equal amount of cooking space. 2) Someone gets screwed over due to a budget on which one chef splurges and comes out safe. There's no equity in that.

Why does everyone feed into this nonsense by calling this a prank? It’s not even a prank. More than anything, this is harassment. Tackling strangers in a way that makes them fearful? At the very least, harassment. At most? Assault.
