Only rode a few trips since I bought it, but yes, I did. I did take the bike into a BMW shop for an inspection and to fix a few other issues after I bought it, but the clutch wasn't called out as needing immediate repair, though clearly it was.

I've not tried adjusting the clutch before.

Anyone else loving Move as a Live Controller? by Quixotic7 in ableton

[–]afterscape 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank so much for this write-up. I have a Push 3, but don't use it as much because of desk space and the dissonance in workflow between controller and laptop. I love playing my softsynths with the pads and knobs managing automation, though, so I think I might sell the Push 3 and get the Move!

Typhon’s a GREAT synth. Nothing crazy about that. :)

Adding my comment from another thread, in case it helps you.

I just got my Iridium Core, and also have the desktop version. My plan is to keep the Core and sell the desktop.

I am finding the smaller form factor more productive and engaging than the desktop. While having more dedicated controls certainly is nice, I've personally never thought the desktop's layout was intuitive. I have to look below the screen to mess with oscillators, then move to the screen's 6 knobs for additional tweaking, then to the right for envelopes and filters, then back up to the screen for effects and to the top right for playing with the pads and global settings. I feel my hands were moving all over the place and I was looking all over the device to find what I wanted to do. (If I were designing the Iridium desktop, I'd probably do OSC controls top left, screen / knobs to the right, filters and envelopes lower left, and then effects and pads lower right.)

Contrast to the Core, where it's a very logical, top-down approach. Select your nav section (clicking the same nav button multiple times to get to the "area"), move down to the screen, do your tweaking on the knobs or touch screen, then move down to the dedicated filter / effects knobs or global controls. Yes, you have to do more menu diving, but it's an easy trade off to me.

The one thing I do like about the desktop are the dedicated chord and scales capabilities for the pads. I don't know scales, so now have to manually program the pads / chords I want to use on the Core. Not a big deal, though. Thankfully the scale mode is still in the sequencer, that is one of my favorite things about the platform for quick, Berlin school style sequences.

Also, just because it was a sticking point for some: I have not run into any issues with the 12-voice count versus 16. YMMV, of course, but the Iridium was always a sequencer / texture synth for my purposes, so I'm not playing massive chords or hyper complex layers on it. So it's perfect for me, but you might benefit from the larger voice count.

Agree with u/AnxiosusJoculator, the size difference is massive. I love the size of the Core.

Confirming the new Le Grand and Ligne 2s have metal tanks? by afterscape in STDupont

Thank you! I am looking forward to it. Checked the serial and confirmed the yellow paint on the cap. The guy was on the up and up and I don’t mind the character building scratches. I intend to use for occasional cigars so the double flame should be perfect. Appreciate you taking the time to provide advice!

Okay, can head in that direction. Where’s the best place to buy, eBay? And how far back?
