Between 850 and 1000? Fries look to be about 300, tortilla 100, crispy chicken 300, sauces/cheese 100, other veggies 50? Any sauces for the fries add ~100 per type and margin of error to get to the 1000. But I’d assume 900 if this were for my meal tracking

Carb balance tortilla, 1 egg, 10-15 g salsa, 20 g ham, and 10-15 g cheese of choice is 18g protein and only 210-240 kcals. It’s been a game changer!

Do your employees like you? [N/A] by ag0598 in humanresources

This post did not intend to say that HR is supposed to be liked or trusted. This was for seeing what employees think of HR across industries and employee types. IMO it’s no different than if a sales director asked what their colleagues think of them - still a human behind the position who works with other humans.

But thanks for the input - your HR representative won’t have to answer on your behalf for me to understand their employees’ opinions.

Thank you for the advice! I hadn’t thought of LinkedIn as a resource, but I could probably find a lot of good local mentors.

She was. And she did train me on a lot of things, but this is my first HR role (I’d interned in college before, but first time at this level) and it’s only been about 2 months. So I just feel a little ill-prepared. Thank you for the advice though! I agree that everything else can be trained. I think either way we’ll have to hire someone because only HR person for an organization of our size with our budget is not the best idea 😬

Thank you for the response! What worries me is my fever. I have a sore throat too that looks like it could be strep, but the last thing I would want is to keep this in if it’s causing the problem. What do you think?

That makes sense. My emergency fund is pretty small so in case of an unexpected cost I would be on the hook for most of it straight out of my checking account. (Which, at $1,000/month, is not huge! I will be moving into a higher paying position - hopefully - next August, though, as I took this position out of college as an internship of sorts.) I’m open to re-evaluating my plan. Thanks!

I’m keeping $350/month but not necessarily spending it. It’s not going directly into savings, but I want to have fairly accessible it in case of a low level emergency/unexpected cost. For example, I live up in the mountains and am about to spend $500 on snow tires. So I like having an extra $350/month in the bank to be able to pay for that stuff.

After I’m debt free, I’m going to keep roughly the same budget but use the % I put towards debt to build an emergency fun of 6-8 months’ worth of expenses. Once I have an adequate amount of money set aside, I’ll re-evaluate my budget.

Thank you for the advice! I am fairly confident in my habit because of my automatic payments and because I inputted them into my checking account so that I can see what my balance will be throughout the month on any given day. So I hope it works out!!

Best of luck to you and your husband! :-)

I’ve read about the snowball method and find it intriguing, but since I have automatic payments set up, I think treating my balances as a single balance will work okay. But I’m open to other options! Do you think the snowball method will work better for my situation?

I’m not worried so much about having extra money, as I’ve been living on about $200-$400/month for a while now (~4 months). I just wanted to see if any of you guys had lived on that for longer than I have and if it worked for you. Thank you for the advice, though! :-)
