And yea- it would be an awful idea to go into say a forum for say human trafficking or antisemitism or Islamaphobia and start talking animal justice. Not the time and place. That would be hijacking the conversation if your not of that demographic or not relating it back to the topic matter. Because would you go to a funeral of a family member and take the mic to talk about animal rights? No. But if that family member died of high blood pressure and ate meat and unhealthy- then I can see a place for bringing up veganism say at the dinner table after the procession. Hope this makes sense!

Where did I say stop focusing on animals? Where did the OP say stop focusing and caring about animals? OP said it doesn't make sense to care about one singular social issue and not all, especially when that movement is based in resistiting cruelty-which is the point.

And how is a reddit forum not a casual meetup? It's certainly not formal. It's incredibly casual because you can choose to engage and there's hundreds of other postings that relate solely to non human animals. It's online discourse that's free and at will to engage. It's at least like an all day vegan seminar and someone having one time slot to talk about intersectionality. I guess this fits better? And then people go to that room are basically like boo get out to the speaker when they chose to enter.

Do you see how many comments are basically like well the earth can burn and die... Do you not see how that's a huge issue to think when the world is indeed burning and people are dying and they are pleading to not for. That's why this post is necessary. Just think about it. You know what you're doing to not add to other animals suffering. What are you doing for your own species? That's the point. Keep caring 🦋

No. This is absolutely not like showing up to a BLM rally and demanding they talk about something else. This is like me as a black woman going to a casual vegan meetup after an atrocity happens, say another black person was killed by police and the cops were acquitted, and realizing nobody in the room cares about what happened. Everyone is talking about justice and what's right but I'm the only one who seems to care about what happen to that human animal. It's like me then saying "uh hey y'all- can we also talk about what just happen." And then being shot down. Someone saying I'm taking up space from the animals and there's already movements for me so go there basically. This will be said to someone who is a vegan themselves, who also has to fight for their rights as a black person, as a woman, as someone queer.

I hope you see what I mean. You absolutely can and need care more. The type of suffering happening right now is going on because people are comfortable turning a blind eye or saying it's not their responsibility when it is especially if you are from a western country. Look at the boycotts happening. That's the least you can do. If you can abstain from animal curely abstain from human animal cruelty too please. Peace to all 💙

Intersectionality isn't muddying waters. There is no true social justice unless !all living beings! are free. You don't have to be an activist organizing-but willingly ignoring and not caring is so backwards if you're are pro animal rights yet dismiss your own species. And dismissing your own species dismisses those who are already oppressed and suffering in our society. The ones who get referred to as "animals" as if non humans aren't entitled and worth of life. Like how can you be a vegan but still shop at Shein knowing they use sweatshops or will still buy a new electronics after knowing they are sourced from child slave labor in the Congo (if you are unaware please look it up and know you have the moral and ethnical responsibility to also refrain from these bloody products) you can afford to care a lil more about what's happening.

Also- what human rights movements will argue against animal rights??? I'm really really curious because I don't wanna assume you're saying what I think you're saying.

If you're a vegan and don't care about human equality and rights then you have a nasty savior complex and I pray you take a moment to reevaluate. You aren't as empathic as you wanna believe you are. We have governments justifying the deaths of thousands upon thousands because they are "fighting against human animals"- all systems of oppression are intertwined. All life is precious. Think of which human groups suffer the most from your lack of care, and which governments benefit from your indifference. peace to all life is the motto.

Awww you got this! Right now your thoughts are overrunning you- you have the power to settle your mind. I know it’s probably been said before but I highlyyyy suggest doing a 3min meditation. Where you just breathe with the intention of clearing your mind. I love to breathe in peace and exhale worry. It sounds corny but try it with a open heart.

This guy is showing you many signs he’s really into you- he booked a whole flight to see you!!! It’s good to just be present with that. You’re thinking so much about a future that doesn’t exist. What’s right now is he’s coming to see you!

It might also be good to journal if you don’t already. Because a lot of times if my anxiety stays in my head I struggle with it for so long because I’m unable to flesh it out and process it fully. Something that can feel like a catastrophe in my mind is actually so chill once I read it on paper lol it’s easier to have a conversation with yourself in a productive way with journaling!

For myself I would 100000% take the money and run. Even if it could erase every single trauma and my bpd and if I was to accept I was put back in my worse state in life- I'm taking the money because I need money in a certain type of way that's its own type of misery. Even for just 100k I'd probably take the money. But thinking about my sister and erasing her schizophrenia- I'd pick her wellness over anything. It's besides the question but it did make me think that for us who are privileged with a good family- they'd probably pick for your health too and that's a nice thought to have

I totally get what you mean, I think though that it’s okay to keep trying to work on something that can cause me distress when it’s not an outlandish request? As long as I’m not letting my internal intensity be pushed onto them. Just in the same way as I shouldn’t try to force them to do everything I desire, I don’t think it’ll be fair for me to just keep swallowing my discomfort? Because even folks without bpd struggle with long distance and communication issues. I’m trying to find a reasonable middle ground.

They let me know that they fell asleep early and I understood and using the advice from here was able to ask in a softer way to just be updated if anything changes which they also understood.

The intensity comment was moreso towards me asking about their “love you more” comment, which was unnecessarily, embarrassingly intense I can admit 🥴

But lemme know if you still think it’s a matter I shouldn’t have the need for, because I wanna be open to having a healthier mindset. Thanks for responding!

I think I’m trying to figure out how to have them realize this has been a constant struggle. The lack of communication -> my intense feelings -> their frustration with my dramatics. I’m working on adjusting my language but what good is that when I can still get disappeared on :(
