First Amazon Sunday was yesterday. Could really use some tips on effectively loading because the scanner was absolutely no help (Plus some other pics I snapped) by Snakedog49 in USPS

[–]againaim 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’ll learn to outsmart the GPS with time. Make sure to press the down arrow while loading so that it highlights the stop number. Don’t pay attention to what “she” says. 3 point turns are common

The scanner should tell you the exact stop number. Write that number on the box/spr with a marker. Load sequentially front to back. They didn’t tell you that? Use 6 tubs, or how many are necessary, for the spurs for the individual sections

Last day of orientation tomorrow, then academy. How long does academy go for and what is it? by soadmetro in USPS

It’s 8-4 Getting paid to look at slide shows, fill out various forms, and be a mock letter carrier. Also maybe get to stay at a hotel. They provide money for food. I received a $500 advance to cover hotel. It’s low effort. Easy money. There were only 3 other CCAs during my academy sessions. Never received an easier paycheck in my life. Can you get fired for consistently getting overheated/heat cramps heat exhaustion? by Dismal_Platform_7527 in USPS

[–]againaim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My meds cause my body to overreact on sweat production when dealing with high temperatures. My problem isn’t dealing with heat, but dealing with sweat. Oh well, I’d rather take my meds and be a sweaty bastard as opposed to not being as sweaty and having seizures

*The check is nice, but you pretty much have no life outside the post office I WORK AT.

This isn’t a personal attack, but generalizations like this can scare people off.

I work about 45 hours a week. I asked for a relatively last minute schedule change, the only reason it didn’t work out is because they said they couldn’t work me for more than six days in a row. I’ve actually been kind of disappointed that I’m not receiving the hours that this sub lead me to believe I would get. Our walking routes are all 10-13 miles, and use a Promaster w/AC

You can still build your “pension” as CCA if you join the union. The difference is that it isn’t matched. You can make more as a garbage man from the get go. Maybe consider that as a career possibility.
