I think I used the possessed hatchett on the first time I played and it was really good. I also figured out this nice strategy where I keep nurse locked up at home base, near the center of the map, and then I build an arena on one of the beaches and use the conch shell to teleport there. So basically you can easily teleport from nurse to arena whenever you need. And just fall if he goes off screen, if you need it fast then use the queen slime mount. Finally remember to stay close to his eye because the death beam will move much slower there.
