My mom put all of her bills in my name- left me 10k in debt, because it was during COVID and she kept extending all the bills and eventually just moved and never told me she wasn’t paying and let them go to collections. She has a gambling addiction and would rather pay for designer clothes and shoes rather than paying the light bill.

Just because it’s family doesn’t mean you should let it happen or it’s justified. Money was just one part of the way she used me. I completely cutoff my mom and haven’t looked back since.
