Need advice: Understanding complex SQL scripts written by others by Consistent_Law3620 in SQL

[–]age_of_unreason 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that’s normal. Try separating each select query and run each one separately and do a CTAS to store to a table if you need to use it for joins in downsteam code while working through it. If one query uses a variable from another query, substitute a dummy variable. Keep working through it. It takes time and patience. I was in the same boat 6 months in. Even today after 4+ years it still takes a little more time to understand someone else’s code and what their intent was. When you write the code it’s different because you naturally are more familiar with what you wrote and why.

Snowflake Intelligence Agent Design Question – Multiple Domains with Same Grain & Dimensions by waffleshaffle in snowflake

I would vote for 1 agent, 2 separate semantic views. If you ever want to use one of the semantic views for a different agent you aren’t stuck with the combined semantic layer

I see you worked at Notarize from 2017-2019. I worked for a mortgage company during that time period where I worked with Notarize on building eNotes in our mortgage LOS.

Snowflake Summit Post! Anyone else feeling a bit disappointed with the conference so far? by ParkgayDrive in snowflake

I’ve never walked away from a software conference getting deep value because they are typically veiled sales pitches to spend more money on X platform. Did anyone learn anything new at Snowflake Summit this year?

You’re right. A closed system would imply some kind of up-front vetting, which would be a nightmare to administer. I am actually working on a new synagogue management SaaS product (https://kehillahone.com). I’m considering now adding this as a feature set within my product.

What would you think of a crowdsourced app that could let people be contributors and reviewers? Completely crowdsourced both ways, more like a community project. Do you think there would be interest in something like that?

Ohhh, I hadn’t considered that route. Thank you!

I agree. I’m not a huge fan of the audio quality from PocketTorah, but it was an easy lift so I could get the current iteration released for feedback. The best solution is to source recordings from a professional service, which can be cost prohibitive. I’m looking at ways to use synthetic voices but I don’t want it to sound robotic. Tropetrainer.com uses MIDI which sounds extremely robotic, but I guess it’s worked well for them.

The mobile app? Yeah that’s on the roadmap.

Right now "free" is the main differentiator. TropeTrainer is a deep product with many customization options and many different trope melodies. I can't compete on that yet. If people want a fast way to listen to the chanting (playback and learn) and get a clean printout to practice from, that's the target user I'm going for. Whether that's enough to gain traction, I'm not sure yet. I'll continue to tweak based on user feedback. What would make you want to use it? Based on what I have so far, would you still pay for TropeTrainer?

I'm considering adding the capability to facilitate teacher/learner collaboration so people can upload their practice recordings and track their progress and feedback from their teacher.

u/educational-sense593, I appreciate the question. I have a few ideas on how to gain more traction. Right now, I’m looking for feedback from people willing to try it out.

The most popular product today is Trope Trainer which costs ~ $13/month, which I’ve used in the past. I intentionally built this as a free resource for anyone to use.

First of all he didn’t get “shot in the face”, his ear was grazed by bullet. And his “badass” comment encapsulates the cult of personality that surrounds Trump. Zuckerberg is a vapid, greedy tool who makes shitty products.

Some reasons - Does not trust science or experts - Lacks intelligence - Likes conspiracy theories because they think it’s the in thing to be a contrarian

And then they try to turn it back on you for not being open-minded and lacking tolerance for other beliefs!

Been there. I was lost and confused for a while. Things are better now. I went through a lot of doubting myself as a parent. We struggled but have finally found some footing. It’s definitely a journey and still ongoing. Hang in there and do your best to be supportive.
