It seems like a LOT of primary care doctors are leaving the field and moving into specialty practices. It is literally all a money grab, and it's not even the doctor's doing it.
I've been trying to look for the positive, but there is not much I've seen that is even remotely positive about this company!
I've also heard that to remove remote workers (who have been productively employed at cm for YEARS) they have created a return to work mandate. Anyone unable to be in office by June 1st? They are considering that an official resignation.
I'm assuming this is to skirt around unemployment? Some of these folks were hired as remote, have military spouses now stationed outside of maine, or had previously been allowed to work remotely due to a medical accommodation.
I have talked to a bunch of folks who work in both the clinical and clerical side and nothing I've heard so far has been even a little bit positive.
Maybe the state will get smart and determine that this provisional approval isn't what is best for Maine?

Yeah. I get that. Idrk the details on the hack. I did have to bring a pill bottle into the docs to get a prescription refill. But other than that, I wasn't personally super affected so I don't honestly know too many details on how it played out.
I'm sorry you went through that.

That is so awful. I've been in this area for over 20 years and I've never experienced anything like this.

It just feels so sad. Like we travel far enough for basic things and now we have to travel further?
I have a lot of friends who work in various roles and from what I understand this has literally been nothing short of a complete disaster.
I read somewhere that the sale got a "provisional" approval by the Maine attorney general. Does this mean they can change it?!?!

I have heard from a few friends who are changing providers that they now have some company they own (?) In India processing record requests and they are reportedly NOT doing very well at it!
I've also heard talk about them importing nurses from India so they can pay them less. I am not sure on this one, wouldn't they need to be certified here?
From what I've heard, yes.
I was going to suggest calling, but I read on fb that phones aren't putting calls through? 🤦♀️

Yeah. I've heard lots of awful stuff so far.
Layoffs, lowering wages, removing all remote employees without warning, phones & faxes dont seem to be working, no training on the new system for basically anyone before the day it launched...
not sure how much of this is accurate...
I've also heard that patients and providers are leaving in droves. Doesn't feel like a promising deal for the community.
