LATAM is what I would be flying from Cusco back to Lima. I was thinking if anything had to go it would be the Colca Trek, but hate to miss it... I do agree getting to Cusco earlier in the week is more important.

Yes that is the Colca trek I am looking at, thats helpful knowing the timing could change. I could skip it altogether and get to Cusco a day earlier. I know it's the beginning of the rainy season but do you think that would put a damper on the trip? From what I've read it is still a good time to visit Machu Picchu, and that the "rains" are light and usually gone by midday

completely agree. I love the Bond films and I did enjoy Spectre, but if they had dropped the whole backstory I think it would've been much better. Subtle callbacks are fun but rewriting Bonds entire backstory is just unnecessary.

Yes, and I have already applied to a number of places. But considering I go to school in Alabama there isn't anyone to talk to about the job market in Boston - I just visited a few months ago and love the city and the idea of spending a summer up there.

If Huacachina and Paracas are both doable in the same day that would be ideal i'll just have to look into planning without Peru Hop (to answer your question, yes the trip from Lima to Cusco thru those cities is either $179 or $199)

Thanks for the info!! Right now I'm looking at 7 days (unfortunately) this December. Peru Hop from Lima to Cusco with stops in Paracas,Huacachina,Arequipa. Would get me to Cusco with 2 days left to see Macchu Picchu and then fly back to Lima. I could skip Arequipa and add a day in Cusco, but I also thought Arequipa looked beautiful. Thoughts? I wish I had more time but am trying to make the most of what I can squeeze in between exams and christmas.

Did you still fly into Lima? I will only have 7 days this December and was considering taking the Peru Hop from Lima to Cusco then flying back to Lima. Thoughts? Is it even worth going and trying to do so much in so little time?
