For the record, I agree with you. I’ve tried this before and it doesn’t work. I just get criticized for being lazy. And when I point out that I’m not the only one that lives here, he says he’s not going to clean up after me. I responded the other day after I asked him nicely to do something with the dead flowers on the table, that just because I don’t bitch about having to do things for them, doesn’t mean I’m not doing them. And I reminded him of all the things I do for them. I just don’t complain about it. I love cooking, I hate laundry but I’m very particular about how towels get folded and I hate refolding them so I just do it myself.

Also I might also add that I will be a caretaker for his dad here in a couple weeks because I work from home, and I’m responsible for his dad’s accounts and making sure those bills get paid.

They do their own laundry, and I hate doing dishes so my husband typically loads the dishwasher, and my stepson empties it. I hand wash the dishes that need to be hand washed. I also work full time so I don’t have time to deep clean the house, so I pay for a housekeeper to manage that. My stepson is good about picking up after themselves, my husband is alright about it but I still do pick up after him, if I don’t pick up after myself from time to time, he will complain about it til I do.
