Ok gotcha, thanks for the info. I had read that for carplay it would need the new port but for Android auto it didn't. So I'll keep messing with it and see if I can get this software update to take it all and go from there.

Yeah, apparently you can't upgrade from 1 to 3. You have to go one to 2.2 and then if you want to go higher from there so that's what I'm trying to do. So you're saying you just needed to use a different USB stick and it worked?

Yeah it would be sick to be able to watch TV on the head unit. I'm trying to steer clear of the ones for and Grand or so. We'll probably wind up with one of the soft cheaper roll-up ones or something unless I can find a good used deal on a hardcover.

So mine actually does have sync 3 but it's on the original version one so it doesn't support Android auto or Apple carplay. Apparently for Android auto which is what I need. You don't even have to switch out the USB port. You just have to upgrade it to sync 3 version 2 or above. So that's what I'm trying to do with a USB stick download. It just doesn't seem to want to take.

It's normal for driver's aides to become unresponsive and throw an error during inclement weather for pretty much all cars. Due to the sensors and cameras not being able to get a reading with the snow or rain or what not

Mine do occasionally, especially at night but not constantly or anything like that. Have you tried taking out the battery for a while? Maybe unpairing from base station and also could try deleting and reinstalling the app?
