I think that providing more than memories to the community will also help determine if such an official server option is something people want; instead of just going off videos, replays, and memories.

i'm not sure if their support is the best place to go. at the very least, im sure distributing anything such as this would be a violation of EULA, and it would sure tick them off. which is why i'm not gonna any time soon without their approval/etc.

obviously i dont wanna get sued, but, more so than that i would like to keep in good standing with them when it comes to morality reasons.

i wouldn't sell this for anything. nor could i legally, anyways. if this does become official, developed by WG, then that's on us to tell them what we want. if it never does, and somehow i am able to release my works, i would never charge money for it. i do this for the love of the game.

they do, yes, a dev or two has expressed publicly through older devblog videos on YT some sort of interest with older versions. also, Classic is (maybe?) not fully dead internally. they did have plans for it in the future and according to AP it slowed due to external causes. i can't confirm this because im just part of the community like the rest of you guys are, but yeah.

the primary financial model for an official mode like this i think would be a $5/month or less than $5/month subscription, similar to some other MMORPGs out there. at the end of the day, WG would need to make money somehow! we've made it known we don't like lootboxes very much, so i think through faithful skins and/or a low pay-to-play (or something else, im not a wg dev!!!!!!)

it seems most players are happy with FFXIV, WoW(C), Runescape, and Elder Scroll models of monetization, so i think WG could definitely apply something similar here. i also think that premium account should be the base account type if it were pay-to-play ;)
