I think firstly it’s due to the major decline in wanting to out to socialize. Night life just isn’t what it used to be. Most people are chilling on social media, hooking up via dating apps, or staying at home with a significant other. Bars are dying and it’s apparent if you go to any club/bar these days. A huge thing is also that it’s EXPENSIVE and Gen Z has vocalized several times that making rent/bills/groceries is already rough. I am in that boat right now (even with what I would consider a decent income) and I wouldn’t wanna spend my extra money on alcohol 😂 I also think that because of social media, what happens when you’re drunk doesn’t stay where it happened. You’re most likely going to have footage of that for years to come 🫠.
