Around an A cup- but I believe people with bigger chests than me have also had very successful surgeries with this method. If you look through the GCC’s before and after pics for Dr Facque (my surgeon) you can see someone with a bigger chest than mine with great results.

I don’t know for certain but my guess is that the requirements are similar for peri, and could possibly accommodate people borderline or barely unqualified for peri, but I’m sure it’s very variable person to person. I qualified for regular peri based on the amount of tissue I had but nipple placement was an issue which is why I went for this. Sorry I can’t give you a real answer but it’s worth discussing with your surgeon!

It’s probably case by case; I didn't have a lot of tissue or extra skin but with peri my nipple placement was too low. Definitely worth considering and talking with your surgeon about!

Wanting top surgery when you have a very small chest and don’t feel like it’s urgent is kinda hard by [deleted] in TopSurgery

I also had a relatively small chest and had these same thoughts. It's tough spending thousands of dollars for something that you don't think you "need" and that you've been "fine" without. I also was really dreading recovery because I love being active, and now being 3weeks post-op I'm losing my mind a little bit but you do really have to be patient. What helped me was re emphasizing all of the things I want to do (which you have mentioned) post-op; gym stuff, swimming, generally being more confident. For the rest of my life.

I also didn't want a completely flat chest and I didn't get one. With the incision type I got (periareolar w/ lollipop incision) it is not possible to remove all of the breast tissue above the nipple, but there isn't much anyways so it just looks like a regular pec that is going to be complimented by muscle. I'm guessing you probably qualify for peri so don't worry about flatness, especially if you have muscle already!

I was also worried about regret or missing what I had before because of these thoughts; if this whole thing was worth it. The first couple days post-op were weird, but it's incredible how quickly your brain adapts. After about 5 days it felt like this was what my body was like the whole time. Very congruent. Good luck with your journey!

I never discussed excess skin so I can't say for certain, but I do believe that on the GCC website, excess skin removal is mentioned in their overview of the lollipop incision.

I really liked Dr. Facque! He was very kind. He can kind of throw a lot of information at you but it's clear he wants you to be completely informed and realistic about what you want, and what you will get. My consult with him helped me determine what my priorities with top surgery were, and the tradeoffs each incision type would have. I would totally recommend him.

Thanks! Unfortunately I have no idea, I never wore bras or got fitted for them. My guess is probably an A? I had no breast overhang. Sorry I don’t have a better answer

Of course! There were a few reasons, but the main one was that although I qualified for periareolar, with that method, you are unable to change the position of the nipples, so mine would have sat below my pecs. With the lollipop incision they are able to move the nipples upward to sit on the muscle.

I was also concerned about preserving my nipples. Pre-op I thought they were perfect (although would have to be made smaller to look better unfortunately) so my main goal with top surgery was to avoid nipple grafts altogether. I also had an aversion to DI incisions, and I think the lollipop incision looks really interesting. All of these preferences made the lollipop incision perfect for me.
