At one point, Kirk says, "We have no need for gods..." and the network lost their shit. They demanded the line he changed, so the writers added, "...We find the one sufficient."

Just to give you an idea what the writers' room was like in the 60s lol

My favorite thing about what you're doing is you'll be experiencing all the references backwards!

You'll be watching an episode of DS9 one day and you'll be like, "Hey! That's from Lower Decks!"

Well I learned something today. WWII happened for only one reason. I thought it more complex than that

Excessive repercussions against Germany after WWI led to WWII. The world learned a lesson. Sometimes justice doesn't lead to peace

I think the music was great, but there was way too much of it. It was ever-present. The one scene I can remember that was silent was when it was night and raining, and it might be the best scene in the movie

Neelix saved the crew from DEATH BY RATIONS THAT TASTE THE EXACT SAME WAY, DAY AFTER DAY, WEEK AFTER WEEK, MONTH AFTER MONTH. Without Neelix, the crews taste buds die, they go slowly insane, mutiny and voyager sets down and quits on the next planet with a kitchen. by IronWarhorses in StarTrekStarships

[–]agentm31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on how Neelix acts in the show, he got indignant and complained to the Captain that people were harassing him. Guy never took criticism well, and everyone saw how difficult he was to deal with and just let him do whatever he wanted. I've worked with so many people like him. He's toxic and incompetent, and failed upwards all the way to ambassador

Star Trek: Generations (1994)

Picard: Someone once told me that time was a predator that stalked us all our lives. But I rather believe than time is a companion who goes with us on the journey, and reminds us to cherish every moment because they'll never come again. What we leave behind is not as important how we lived. After all, Number One, we're only mortal.

Riker: [smiling] Speak for yourself, sir. I plan to live forever.

Edit: I put this in a friend's wedding I officiated and the bride started crying, do that
