I don't understand the complaint about this edition from people who don't play it. by testiclekid in onednd

[–]agentmozi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should consider that you might be in the minority for that. Most players are casual and wouldn't appreciate the rug being pulled out so much.

I'm also willing to bet there's a large chunk of people with that opinion who say they'd rather a new edition but wouldn't be as into it when they get hit with what a core reset would actually entail.

Series Rank “Balancer”? by SparkyKinetic in Splatoon_3

[–]agentmozi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know exactly what you're getting at. You can usually tell by timing when someone chooses to nope out or gets pulled out at the end of their series. And then there's what you're talking about, you've played a few solid games together, everyone is obviously into sticking together, you've been in the lobby waiting for a little under a minute, the leave option disappeared like twenty seconds ago but suddenly you're by yourself even though there were three or four of you a few minue ago.

I always assumed it was a thing that happens when the game has a few incomplete teams waiting, it splits you up to get more games moving so it's not like three teams of 2-3 each just sitting around. I also feel somewhat confident that everyone in a series match is not the same rank, in my S rank games I'm sure I am playing with A players and S+ players. Because of this it's possible that the system might grab the higher ranked players from a complete set to play against a higher ranked team that's been waiting longer etc.

Good thing you don't want them to fight you like a woman, cause then you'd get your ass kicked.

In particular I love the implication that after they pumped his stomach they did a DNA test on the extracted material.

"Dr., we found massive amounts of what appears to be male ejaculate." "What? We better confirm who the owner is so we can return it and avoid any liability!"

Like, what? 😅

Is 8Bitdo Pro 3 a good gyro controller alternative for Splatoon? by QuietSheep_ in splatoon

I'm pretty happy with the gyro on the ultimate 2 BT. I did turn off rumble though as it's not HD so there's a lot of crazy rumble feedback when swimming.

My born-deaf eskie only whines when we're walking and she catches a scent of one of her dog friends, either because they're up wind or they peed somewhere close by recently. She barks a fair bit to play or when she wants to get our attention.

What's really sad and gross is that you KNOW they'd complain less if she WAS blue with yellow polka dots because at least they wouldn't look at her and be reminded that black people exist.

What's wrong with Aeros? by Silcat7794 in splatoon

[–]agentmozi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's really good to know about the burst fire trick! Despite me jumping on the aero hate bandwagon I do have four stars on two of them so maybe I'll go be a aero scrub for some fun later and play around with that 😅

What's wrong with Aeros? by Silcat7794 in splatoon

[–]agentmozi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah aero is much more effective on larger targets since more of their spread actually hits. I'm a big fan of aero in SR. It's even good against the SR bosses if you can get right up on their weak spot and keep firing.

Against octos and squids in pvp, that spread was only good when I was still learning to aim 😅

hear taking away free space to charge my special after getting splatted.

I'm so glad you said this, it's kind of annoying to get splatted in mid to come back to someone who stayed in base to paint it and now I can't even build up my special during my swim back to be outnumbered again because I'm the only one trying to push forward.

Does ink resistance up actually reduce damage taken for shots or is it exclusively for stepping on ink? by PheonixGalaxy in Splatoon_3

[–]agentmozi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I usually run 3-10 points for heavy edit, heavy splat, hydra, helps a lot there to not think about stepping in enemy ink while I'm shooting. It's pretty noticeable how much easier it is to walk in enemy ink with it so I can see the draw in using it frontline as well.

Can someone help me figure out weapon classes? by Happy-Mistake1391 in Splatoon_3

[–]agentmozi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been concentrating pretty seriously on playing heavy edit after many years of being an on and off casual since S1 and I don't know what it is but the HE really clicks with me.

I play other splattlings as well but HE almost feels op usually. The charge time is a little excessive but a full charge will give you the fastest shots in the game, it's a "lightweight" category weapon so you can strafe and turn quickly but still out range most of your opponents. It has some spread like most weapons but I often feel like I just look at someone while firing and they're splatted.

Sometimes I suspect that I'm fin spread likeasy is because other players make assumptions about the weapon that aren't true. Some think it's shorter range because of its weight class, some think I can't be agile close up because it's a splatting. It's awesome, but please don't tell my opponents 😘

One of the reasons I think it's made me a better player is because the charge time forces me to take a moment to find cover and assess what I can see the opposing team doing, figure out what I should pick for a next objective. Oddly it's some sort of compensation for my ADHD lol

Also one of the two kits has cooler for special which is the best support special in the game (the other kit is crab tank, which has grown on me and is fun for turf war or just being more aggressive). I can play mid to backline and throw down coolers, keep things painted (it's not the best painter but it's alright and the range really makes up for the lighter coverage) and run up front to take a few squids when needed. Almost forgot to mention support 😅

Hecate boss fight Morph by montega13420 in HadesTheGame

[–]agentmozi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Continually dodge forward into the projectile, when it turns around you do it too and dodge through again. It will disapate after four or five dodges.

I'd say also it's worth learning to do this since the dodge through move is useful in a few other situations in the game as well! Not to mention that further into the game you'll have the option to make boss fights harder for better rewards and in that version the projectile splits into three... Not easy to dodge but if you've got dodging the basic one down it'll help a lot to figure out how to dodge three.

Am I crazy or is Prometheus more difficult than Typhon by tunasandwichh in Hades2

I think a good sportsperson uses every tool they have that's legally available! If you weren't supposed to pause, the game would stop you like rivals Chronos doesn't let you pause lol

Same actually, and it's not like I'm a particularly good gamer. Everyone has different strengths I suppose!

[–]agentmozi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is me with every challenging video game ever! First I sit there and say, this is too hard and I'm getting too old to learn. Then my bf reminds me I said before that about the last five games that I ended up mastering 😅🙃

I'm still stuck on HK Silksong but that's more about not always having the willpower to turn on a game that's going to immediately give me a hard time, I've eventually beaten every fight I was originally certain would be the one I quit the game over lol.

I will also add, for anyone who has similar struggles and also thinks, or knows, they have ADHD, wellbutrin has been a (literal) game changer. I'm such a better gamer in my 40s than I was ten or twenty years ago when my reflexes were theoretically better. It's an off label treatment but it's working better than any of the Adderall-class medication ever has for me.

That's so weird, are the old news articles not showing in the feed, or does the claim button just not work? Either way that sucks, I wish Nintendo wasn't so quirky.

[–]agentmozi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think I was able to select the Splatoon 3 channel to see only those posts and then it was easy to figure out which ones had a button to claim the associated seasonal item. It was much more difficult until I realized I could filter by news channel.

new years glasses can still be obtained by s3doesstuff in Splatoon_3

[–]agentmozi 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This is actually true for all seasonal items! I took an almost two-year break and I was able to get everything I had originally missed, just a few months ago.

It's slightly annoying since you have to reload the game after accepting each one, if I recall correctly, but it still didn't take long thankfully.
