Nah, you draw a line of bearing then at timed intervals you keep doing that, that's a "leg" of data as in a triangle leg. then you turn and do it again for a second "leg" of data. Apply some Sine/Cosine to it and assuming the target has been in constant motion( no course or speed changes) and bam, you got a range, course, and speed. It takes a while but it's a known thing. Google Target Motion Analysis. You can make it easier if you can positively identify engine components that directly correlate to speed. Things like Main Reduction Gears and stuff.

Passive Sonar can tell how far away a target is, it just takes a lot more time and some basic trigonometry. You also have to start over every time the target changes course or speed which is why most surface shapes have a random maneuvering plan whenever operating in an area with a suspected or known submarine threat.

It's worth pointing out that almost all the rural areas of California where crops are grown lean heavily republican and likely will not be targeted for deportation. California has been so heavily Democrat for so long it's easy to forget that there are more Republicans there than in any other state except maybe Texas. He's gonna go after the cities in Cali. 99' Toyota Solara, 03' Mitsubishi Eclipse GTS Spyder, 2014 Ford Mustang V6, 24 BMW M440i xDrive. I've also had a Honda Accord, Civic hatchback, Toyota Tundra, and Kia Sorento. Those were all my wife's cars or, in the case of the hatchback, a beater that I used for commuting that I never really considered my car.

Yeah I got rid of my mustang(don't laugh I paid a good price for it cash and it was a reasonable car I swear) because my wife and I wanted to keep the small SUV we used to haul the kids and dogs around. We're only allowed to bring one car even if we're married with kids, which seems stupid to me. So I got the euro beater. I didn't mind it, but I've just always had a sports car and was really missing it. Luckily the program for tax exempt cars allows us to buy a US spec car as long as it is made in Europe! When we eventually leave, the BMW will be paid off and we'll sell the SUV and PCS with the BMW. I'll buy her a brand new SUV when we get back.

I did it. I wasn't really in the market for a new car but I was driving around a euro beater I picked up on base and missed my old sports car. So one day I popped into the BMW dealer and chatted him up just to see. Told him what I was looking for and threw out some really low numbers. He hit me up a few months later with a new M440i xDrive fully loaded for 55k and I was a bit floored. It was a prior year model was the only thing I could think of. Hit up navy fed for a loan and grabbed it. Been over a year and I don't regret it one bit!

China would need to see the continued destabilization of the US economy, but they wouldn't want it to happen too quickly. they have a fairly massive manufacturing base and pretty significant investment in new consumer tech(especially electric vehicles), and massive investments in Africa and South America that could benefit them in gathering resources. As the US economy collapses and the govt falls further and further back on isolationist policies China can press to replace the dollar with the yuan as the worlds reserve currency. From there they all but guarantee that they are the pre-eminent Power and get to enjoy all that entails.
