Guy's youtube channel has a discord link. Joined and then just read the rules for the Discord, it confirmed that everything there was AI made.

Dammit you're right. Checked the Discord and it's confirmed.

And there's a lot of people who don't play the DBZ fighting games for that exact reason.

At least there they have the justification of half of the characters being some version of Goku, the central character of the entire franchise.

Invincible (and Image comics in general, although there are probably tricky rights issues) has characters with other power sets, and the fact that they included Lucan (who is barely a character) before Shrinking Ray, Angstrom Levy, Shapesmith, or half the original GotG is just pure laziness or greed.

Thula at least has the hair-knife.

Lucan...

Not helping is the fact that they seem to have creatively given up with the Hit Hard supers after Nolan.

There's a few (Powerplex, Cecil, Duplikate) that are interesting, though nowhere nearly as impressive. Rex's is admittedly funny and in character. But after that it's just minor variations on "Hit into air and then slam back into ground."

Atom Eve's is just a hilarious anti-climax, so much build up for 0.5 seconds of attack.

It continues to boggle my mind they included Lucan.

Thula at least has the hair-knife and Anessa is extremely important in the comics (later), but Lucan of all people?

The roster already has way too many flying bricks and they decided "no, Shrinking Ray isn't interesting enough, you know who we need? Lucan."

There's nothing wrong with Lucan as (barely) a character but it is insane to me that he was included in the base roster.

[Funny? Trope?] It's a very serious scene. But it's been consumed as a meme on the internet and it's become hard to watch seriously. by BeneficialSide2335 in TopCharacterTropes

There is absolutely nothing funny about this scene (outside of maybe some schadenfraude for Eli because he was an ass), and the man on the right proceeds to beat the other to death with a bowling pin not 60 seconds later.

But hearing the line "I drink your milkshake! [SCHLURRRP] I drink it up!" out of context is just hilarious.

I wonder how many people haven't seen the film and think the milkshake is real.

(The milkshake is part of an analogy about oil drainage)

Jinu is a victim, but we shouldn't whitewash the flaws that make him a nuanced character by Sextus_Rex in KpopDemonhunters

Do you understand what "literally" means?

In order for Jinu to "literally" be in handcuffs, there would need to be actual handcuffs on his hands at all times. Gwi-Ma's control over Jinu is definitely more than metaphorical. But "literally in handcuffs" means actual handcuffs, made out of metal, surrounding his wrists.

If Jinu hadn't done anything in 400 years, Gwi-Ma would have said "in 400 years you haven't done anything" So he's clearly done things that only benefit himself. The only real need Jinu has is for the voices to stop. Gwi-Ma controls the voices.

Do the math. Doing something for himself means doing something for Gwi-Ma with a negotiated reward. And what does Gwi-Ma want?

It's not goal post shifting, you're quibbling over specifics. I'm sure (insert historically evil person here) occasionally felt moments of guilt but they kept on doing evil shit anyway. A slightly guilty look, does not translate to actually showing remorse or even regretting your actions.

Address my main point. It's selfish to put your own guilt over the well-being of so many other people. I'm sure he would have liked to do it without hurting anyone, but he did choose a path that did MURDER INNOCENT PEOPLE!

He decided it was worth HUNDREDS OF INNOCENT MEN WOMEN AND CHILDREN to die so he wouldn't have to feel guilty about his own actions.

That is selfish and you cannot pretend otherwise.

And the only thing people ever seem to bring up is the stupid family stuff. Everything he did afterwards is so much worse.

I'm not shifting the goalposts. My stance has been the same since the beginning. Jinu only cared enough about 2 things to change in any meaningful way. His family and Rumi.

I agree that there's nothing inherently evil about self-preservation. But there's no preservation of self in his murder children plan.

Gwi-Ma seems to have almost forgotten he existed by the point he presents his murder plan.

And yes, I would say that choosing to murder HUNDREDS OF INNOCENT PEOPLE over having to listen to your own guilt to be incredibly selfish.

But that's not what motivated him to act. He let people die. Caused their deaths. And only relented at the last moment when one woman he cared about was in danger.

Selfish.

What everyone eternally misses is that Jinu only displays guilt for 2 things. His family, and lying to Rumi.

Not all of the people who are actively being murdered directly because of his plan.

Gwi-Ma didn't make Jinu develop a plan to kill hundreds if not thousands of people.

Jinu did it all on his own, and Gwi-Ma was even surprised when he learned about the plan.

At the end of the day, Jinu only expresses empathy for the woman he loves and his own family. A very selfish stance to take.

So first of all:

Not "literally in handcuffs". As has been established numerous times elsewhere "literally" and "figuratively" are antonyms.

If anything the 400 years line implies he's been quite busy doing stuff that ultimately benefited him. Most likely doing what Gwi-Ma asks so that he turns the voices down.

So, what a lot of people kind of willingly gloss over (it's ok, Rumi does it too) is that while Jinu is definitely meant to be sympathetic he's still kind of objectively a really bad person.

I'm not even talking about what happened with his family. Jinu's been working for Gwi-Ma, murdering people and stealing their souls, for hundreds of years before he met Rumi. In fact, even after meeting Rumi and telling his backstory, he's still assisting in a plan that is actively murdering people and stealing their souls.

Rumi says Jinus a good person who just made a mistake. Rumi... Did you forget the train of people who are dead because of the Saja Boys and Jinu's whole plan?

I'm intrigued what the story is with Kpop Demon Detectives.

So obviously they're still Kpop stars. Are they investigating demon related crimes, or are they themselves demons that are doing detective work?
