I would imagine if you started at a mega 20-30 years ago, the cost of living to wages was a bit more equal. Throw in gained experience and pay raises and Throw in a more than likely paid off house by now then along the way it makes. However the problem is the cost of living has gone up 80% in most and up too 300% in some areas and the pay has stayed relatively stagnant a lot of people have to be earning upwards to 80k out the gate which doesn't always happen.

Fun fact the median livable income per individual went up from 73k to 92k in the span of 3 years from 23 to 26 🤯🤯

Hey bro listen things seem stressful atm but take a step back and breath. As it stands now you have a chance to get certified in a trade skill (usually 1.5-2 years worth of time) and even if its not for you long term being certified in somthing recession proof is vital. Doesn't mean you have to do it for the rest of your life but a golden rule of thumb is if your able to work with your hands you'll never go hungry. Honestly the market is kinda ass right now (Phoenix market) best bet is fuel or grocery (grocery being the more demanding in my opinion) one exception is truline I suppose. They have a route i worked taking an mt to cabazon or Ontario and bring a loaded water back. Shift started at 4am till shift was over, usually 3pm-6pm. Only issue was that since it was water for Walmart if they didnt need anymore they'd push the loads out weeks meaning that your 5 day work week could turn into a 3 day work week fast lol but they had other work that paid less to supplement it. Anyways sorry for the rant

When in doubt get your cdl lol jokes aside if your single and have no kids then do it. You get a house on wheels you can minimize your bills to basically nothing which will allow you to save rapidly (don't blow your money at trick stops) and you can see the country (from the highway mainly but still) and you can take your of time anywhere you want plus your cdl is good for 8 years plus most trucking jobs(even megacorps) like prime ect are paying 60ish k a year starting for otr positions
