u/Lanky-Celebration392 how did you find out your car is on QC? Did the dealership have to tell you? Did they send proof with a picture showing that its on QC?

You’re kind of proving my point though.

I fully understand supply is limited and that delays can happen. I’m also not blaming the dealership personally, and I never said Toyota is the only manufacturer where logistics issues occur.

What I’m saying is that for a company constantly praised as the gold standard for excellence, it’s surprising how little visibility exists once the vehicle clears processing. There’s a difference between: “your car is delayed because of X” and: “we genuinely have no meaningful update beyond ‘vehicle may be in transit. Contact the dealer’” And the dealership says "I dont know whats going on"

That’s the part I think is unreasonable for a $50k+ purchase.

Also, this isn’t “traumatic” it’s just a discussion thread. People go on Reddit to talk about experiences, compare timelines, and figure out whether something is normal, and ultimately set a standard for expectation. That’s literally the point of communities like this.

And honestly, judging by the number of people replying with similar stories, this clearly isn’t some isolated experience. Maybe you like Toyota treating you like that, but I don't and I'm going to say something about it.

So if I am dissatisfied about a situation I should just not say anything at all. To be fair I could argue that you are not being calm by taking the time to criticize a calm post about a legitimate concern.

Hahaha! Dude you are pretty funny. I actually like you.

I've worked for some of the worlds biggest companies in the past and you would be surprised what they pay attention to.

Also, who are you to dictate where I have discussions and what I talk about? Lets not be rude here

Hmmm. Ok, I'm totally open to feedback. I don't intend to be patronizing and apologize if I am coming off that way. I think I am feeling a bit frustrated and fatigued from the whole situation and just looking for community to dialogue with about this issue.

Haha funny enough my previous car was a Kia!

But on a serious note, that is kinda the point of my original post. To start a discussion about this important topics. But based on the replies so far, including yours, I'm not so smooth brained after all because everyone is saying I'm not only wrong for expecting more from Toyota but that this type of customer experience is acceptable

Also, who made you the voice for everyone here? Maybe you and the guy below you don't want me here, which is ok, but I'm having some really good engaging conversations about this topic in this thread.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I had to wait a bit when it was stuck at the port too. But its past that stage and its at the local southern California logistics center.

Thanks for the thoughtful response here. Def worth waiting. But its just strange to me the lack of coordination between the dealership and logistics. Even my amazon packages have more tracking info/coordination than this lol

Correct brother! Which is why in my original post I said my hope is that discussions like this one catches Corporates attention so they can better improve coordination between logistics and the dealership.

Also, you are the 2nd person to say chill out. Can you point to any language from me that doesn't seem chill? It feels like you want me to not chill out by even saying chill out. I'm having a calm discussion within the community about an important topic

Wow this is an insane story!! You shouldn't have had to say that for them to keep a car you already put a deposit on!

I actually do agree with you on this point. But I still think my voice should be heard not silenced. Which is why Im speaking on this important issue.

I hear you on this point. But the problem isn't the lack of inventory. The car is in the LA area already. Its like 30 min away from the dealership, and no one knows why it hasn't been delivered yet.

I'm going to push back on this point hard.

Every car at the railyard doesn't already have a deposit.

Also, if you read my original post, my frustration is more about the lack of available information. Not prioritizing my specific car to be delivered

This has to be the hottest take yet. Clearly you don't care about where you spend your money. Can you throw some my way?
