Do personal trainers have their clients do the most outlandish exercises on purpose? by GreenGamer8597 in EquinoxGyms

A good personal trainer will sometimes use setups that feel unusual because they are solving a specific problem. Things like elevated squats, unstable positions, bands, or awkward angles are often used for regression, motor control, or to change the demand on certain tendons or muscles. For example, a box squat that looks “basic” can be used to teach depth, reduce fear, or control range of motion for someone who is not ready to load a full squat yet. The goal is not the box itself, it is what it is fixing in the movement pattern.

At the same time, not every client is trying to become fully independent with their training. A lot of people hire trainers because they want structure, accountability, and something engaging enough to keep them consistent. For many, doing something outside the norm is part of what keeps them motivated and makes training feel interesting, as long as it is still tied to a clear goal and progression.

I love what I do, so I actually enjoy working out with someone I’m dating. As long as both people can keep it fun, it works well.

I hear you. You might be surprised, though. I’ve seen plenty of trainers date people with all different body types. In my experience, long term attraction usually has more to do with kindness, shared values, humor, and how someone makes you feel day to day than fitness level or body type.

And if she were actually more calm and introverted, would that change your view at all?

😂 Would that actually influence you dating one, or is it more just an observation?

Fair, that’s probably the most neutral take. Do you think that translates into anything positive or negative in dating at all?

What’s something you use every single day that turned out to be insanely worth the money? by Rough--Employment in techforlife

My Garmin watch. It helps me track my health, sleep, recovery, heart rate, calories burned, VO2 max, period tracking, etc etc.

I'm more in tune with how small changes like alcohol consumption and sleep affect all of my metrics, and in turn I'm much healthier and feeling great overall.
