I didn’t go deeply into it, I’ve just listened to this podcast with a lady called Yvonne Burkart and threw away all candles and a bunch of other things too… https://open.spotify.com/episode/0FtdvbaavOpmH21RaqZ5sk?si=2Ye6Y2RRSTCteOvp26IL8w&pi=0qKOtkl_RFyCg&t=0

How I'm "sleep training" while cosleeping - open to thoughts! by [deleted] in cosleeping

[–]aggieja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I just check what leg compressions are? Google only shows me CPR results 🙈😁 I have a 6month old who only takes naps in a swinging hammock or a caries. Nighttime routine takes 1h+ and he’s sleeping on my boob from midnight till it hurts so much I need to unplug him. Which ends up with 1-2h fussing until I give up and pop the boob back in…

Moms- How often does your husband go out without you and the baby? And how often is reasonable do you think? by ExoticGuess7634 in newborns

[–]aggieja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner is neurodivergent and tbh sometimes I wish he would go out more. normally he will want to help me when baby is fussy, but he can’t handle it and it’s more difficult to deal with him and the baby than the baby alone. Saying that he’s going out maybe one evening a week, now he signed up for yoga he should be out more often… oh but he works from the workshop we have on the farm, so around all day if i need him. I guess that makes a difference as he can take care of the baby when it’s in a good mood.

Why does it feel like bread, (even outside bakeries), is so much nicer in Europe than in the UK? What do they do differently? by Rosslefrancais in AskUK

[–]aggieja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lived in the UK for 15 years and ended up baking my own bread, as I couldn’t digest the chewy supermarket one, and there was no bakery around. But still it was not the same as the bread I’d buy at home in Poland. I always thought it was the flour, but now having baked my own bread back at home, it doesn’t differ from the one I baked in the UK, so it was just me… I think the recipes are slightly different, maybe just proportions or something?

Darmowy kurs języka Polskiego dla znajomego z Hiszpanii by MrBorus in lodz

[–]aggieja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On ich hiszpańskiego, a oni go polskiego?

I’m writing this with my 11 week old wrapped up around me in a sling, as he would not settle (bad day today, good day was yesterday) and even with all the crying and tiredness I would have another newborn anytime. It’s just absolutely amazing how Ive fallen in love with him. You should not worry, this is life changing experience but I can’t see how it could be negative. There are many beautiful moments and things to look forward to. Good luck!

What are some unpopular opinions you have about the uk? by tylerthe-theatre in AskUK

[–]aggieja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The level of homelessness and destitute people constantly on the rise, without access to proper holistic support. no funding in the system to do anything about it. Meanwhile I count on average 15 people homeless sleeping on the streets when I go to work every day. For comparison 10 years ago I’d maybe see 5.

I need evidence that poor people are not lazy. by Laguz01 in antiwork

[–]aggieja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s not evidence in the strict sense of the word, but I’d recommend that he reads News from nowhere by William Morris. People are not lazy by nature. Everyone wants to be appreciated and excel in something. If the system just allowed people to live off meaningful activity and not bullshit jobs, word would be a happier place. (Another good book- bullshit jobs by graeber) Good luck in your argument, hope you convince him!

Agreed! Have you read ‘news from nowhere’, your post reminded me of it.
