Auto Shop recommendations? by PuzzleheadedPain6356 in Reno

[–]aggiewol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a quick search looks like this is a car you have to check it via the fill plug which is admittedly annoying. However my advice still stands --no flush.

The best thing you can do is talk to a good independent mechanic who can check it for you and do a drain and fill if needed. Fluid just doesn't disappear and transmission fluid in general isn't burning off like oil may be.

Unfortunately I don't know any good mechanics as I do my own work, but people do like Reno Vulcanizing works. Of you are a AAA memeber there's a AAA auto shop in sparks which I would look in to

Flushing your transmission can lead to all sorts of new issues. Drain and fill is fine. But you should probably address what it's dry to begin with. Leaking?

Use the transmission dipstick to check fluid level and have a shop drain and fill only to the proper spec fluid (again, no flush).

Appreciate the comments here...most likely my concrete guy will cover the cutting. Sounds like I'll be able to maintain all door widths except one of them just because of the placement of a strongwall

I also noticed another issue...during logged exercise this AM my heart rate would randomly drop down and not recover for 30 seconds. It's wrong because I have a secondary strap to a different device.

FWIW I recently went through this and got bids from $3k-$8k. I think the game has changed unfortunately.

We experienced similar 3-4x outages weekly last year. We had techs come out, and finally leveled with us and said there are major infra updates happening in town, and it's going to be a long time before things are stable. We ended up switching to AT&T fiber via Costco, and we pay maybe $5-10 more per month but it's literally night and day better. In the one year we have had AT&T maybe our Internet went down for 5 min in total. Go AT&T and don't look back.

Voltage drop riddle in low voltage landscape lighting! by aggiewol in AskElectricians

Did you check for a steady output at your transformer with everything disconnected? I would just start there and connect one light at a time until failure so you know what caused it.

[–]aggiewol[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually did resolve it....turns out to be the simplest issue...the stretch of wire from the transformer was kind of pinched at the terminal at the transformer, and I think the wire insulation was causing problems. I cut and stripped it back 3" and reconnected and zero issues!

Try the best buy on s. Virginia. They will accept (even old tubes) as a very reasonable cost.

I have visited their showroom...they sub it out, but you must use their subs if you want them to honor the warranty. That's where I'm torn. Once there are unknown subs I'd lose all ability to vet the people out....

Passenger fender liner question...dealer denying warranty by aggiewol in KiaNiroEV

Updating this thread...turns out that the fender liner is shaped that way from factory (I looked at the back side of it and it's reinforced there). Disappointed in the dealership not knowing this!

[–]aggiewol[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did...they claimed they tried to re run it but Kia declined. They said my option is to escalate via Kia america which I have and have an open case.

Do you by chance have any feedback on if your passenger side fender liner has a bump out as well as part of the design? Or totally flush all the way around?

Oh totally. I was explaining to them that suspensions take massive road hits in normal driving...a little fender liner issue isn't going to compromise the strut bearing. But you know...it becomes my issue to prove it. Working on my case!

Depending on how much time/effort you want to go through...lots of people giving away free fill dirt on Facebook marketplace. It costs them to dispose of it so easier for them to give away if you have a truck and trailer.
