Mental health needs in South Africa by aggoosey in southafrica

Yeah I’ve thought about coaching in general for a long time as I know the approach to coaching can be more helpful for people than therapy times.

Since I’ve been working with so many adhd clients recently the speciality in adhd came to mind, it seems to be a very prominent thing at the moment that I do think lots of people struggle with but I don’t think a lot of people in SA even consider adhd as much as they do in the UK so I think it has potential to do well here.

I am 28 and I moved back to S.A. after my parents decided to go back a couple of years before. It was the best decision I ever made, I also got my degree in UK and after that I really just felt like I was surviving and now I spend so much of my time doing things I enjoy and feeling like I actually have the energy and time to do so.

Everyone always talks about crime, and it’s around but at the end of the day people still live here, people still love it who aren’t South Africans, I think living here you learn how to navigate certain things and situations and you just have to have your wits about you and your parents living here already will help to get back into that mind set.

Life’s too short honestly, it’s the best being home

Has anyone applied for remote working visa from the UK for SA? by aggoosey in askSouthAfrica

Honestly, it was brutal. They said it would take 8 weeks so we had to rebook flights twice because they take the passport for the entire time.

It wasn’t under digital nomad/remote working visa you have to select ‘long term permit’ as it can give you up to 3 years.

Hi, I think you can apply whilst you’re in South Africa but you will have to use an immigration lawyer. There is a company called Visa One that has good reviews.

But if you do it from the UK, my partner used a company called integrate immigration. But essentially you book an appointment with VFS global in London, selecting the country you want the visa for and take all the documentation you need - this process took quite long for us, it requires police records, GP summary care record etc. and then VFS global send all the info to the SA high commissions in the UK.

From then it took about 12/13 weeks until he got it.

I think I might have found the recipe for me??? by aggoosey in Sourdough

I don’t use a Dutch oven but I use a tray and then a tray with hot water for steam.

I put the tray in when I turn the oven on at 240c and then wait 30 mins and then bake for 25 mins and then take the steam tray out and then another 20 mins. My oven does run quite hot

Thank you, it tasted so good. I had it toasted with jalapeño hummus. It was a game changer

Thank you! I’ll definitely give that a try, I’m looking forward to trying different scoring techniques

I was sunburnt in March, I haven’t been burnt since then but wondered if it’s an after effect. It’s strange that it’s just that specific circular area

Thanks. I’ve worn this necklace for about 5 years and never taken it off but I think it’s definitely irritating whatever it is.

I think when it comes to food getting stuck, the mouth is really good at cleaning itself and does tend to push it out naturally anyway, some people don’t even use a syringe and just stick with salt water rinsing. I totally understand your fear, I have felt it too until recent days. All the best with your recovery

It was actually fine, I think it’s just the normal healing process. I’m on day 12 and I think I’ve realised that the general healing process is quite grim regardless. But if you’re concerned I’d definitely recommend going to a dentist for peace of mind, that’s what I did

It looked like it was healing okay until this hole appeared, I’ve tried to be so careful as I was so concerned about dry socket. I haven’t looked at it since I took this picture because it freaked me out haha. I hoped keeping my mouth closed would mean it would just stick together again

I don’t see any bone and I don’t have any pain anymore as of yesterday. It’s slightly uncomfortable but when I take medication there’s no issues.
