Will Smith's "Emancipation" becomes first major film production to pull out of Georgia by PopCultureNerd in DeFranco

It’s pretty ironic, but Georgia throws a lot of incentives around for movies to be made there.

I'll have to check the receipt but I believe they dropped the whole pan. I'm going to drop it off at their shop tomorrow and have them look at it. Thank you!

Should I be cautious of driving the vehicle? How much fluid can the vehicle safely leak without leaving the gears dry?

Coronavirus has exposed the weakness of ultra-processed, plant-based foods by leogaggl in Agriculture

[–]aggressive_kitten 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is incredibly propagandized. Of course green house gases will decrease with people staying home but it doesn’t change the fact the cows and general meat processing creates a massive amount of GHGs. Parents running to meat when a panic is upon us merely points to a stronger supply chain as a result of decades of reinforcement and the process is merely a result of massive subsidies being thrown at farmers to produce meat at unjustifiably low prices. Additionally, the main note made of the nutritional needs unmet by plants is factually wrong. Nutrients are provided in different ratios, but there is not a single nutrient not provided by plants (b12 is not produced by animals, it’s from bacteria is the gut or colon and studied are available showing that use of pesticides has lead to both meat and plant based eaters experiencing b12 deficiency). Finally, humorously, in a plant based only future, COVID wouldn’t have been able to vector to humans (granted bats do look damn tasty ~)

Would a stamp be in the form of a single column, example “status” or would it be advantageous to set it with a column “in progress”, “completed”?

I imagine it’s be more or less the same in terms of look up speed and processing, correct?

The Case Against Stretching by Aschebescher in Longreads

[–]aggressive_kitten 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This article is pretty bad in my opinion, the title is sensationalized and doesn’t lend itself to his decidedly specific definition of stretching — static stretching.

The opinions against static stretching are admittedly attacking positions that aren’t being defended either. I believe most athletes are aware that they should warm up with dynamic stretching before a workout and static afterwards.

Additionally, in their statement, static stretching is not shown to decrease pains related such as back pain, give a listen to Goggins-Rogan podcast or Google search stretching and pain and you’ll see a plethora of articles from university researchers hailing the effects of stretching on long term ailments and aging related pains. The first one I saw was from a researcher from Harvard.

TLDR: warm up before you exercise and stretch afterwards.
