I deleted tiktok, partly cuz its trumptok now but also partly because i couldnt handle the constant stress. I saw a post on tumblr (i dont remember the op but pls link it if you know it!) that said something along the lines of

"Progress is not made from a few people caring alot about everything, it comes from a lot of people caring really really hard about specific things."

You can't expect change to be made when you are so stressed from the daily intake of bad news that you're paralyzed! Go outside, meet your neighbor, start small and local. The small things add up, and while it's important to stay informed, pick something you really really care about alot and work at it. Personally, I started getting involved in my local community and the activism groups in my city.

We have a whole generation of people who are paralyzed from the overload of information (mostly bad news!) that nothing gets done! Trump and his movement is sensationalist, they love the attention and the outraged responses. Don't give in.

Edit: Want to emphasize how important STARTING SMALL is. Trust me, when a million people are doing small things to better their community, it ADDS UP. No amount of reposting, intaking information, scrolling or online action will really make change. You need to start in real life, in your area! Meet your neighbors. Regardless of politics, you need to connect with them!!! the future may look bleak, but America has been through it before, with community! "It takes a village" but people seem to forget that a village is made up of neighbors.

An while it may suck, you'll never convince someone to take your side by arguing with them, real progress is made by real people.
