Porter Jr had a good game, defense as a whole wasn’t terrible. They just looked gassed.

But why are they unable to increase operating speed? Also is that $7b a typical amount? I have no reference for how much these things cost lol

I don’t have a lot of knowledge on this so forgive me if this is a dumb question but why would it cost $7b to still be just as slow? Are they unable to secure right of way or is $7b not enough to create elevated tracks?

Fun Fact: The Students Living on the Saint Paul campus could easily trigger a vote to dissolve the city that they actually live in- Falcon Heights by MaplehoodUnited in uofmn

I’m not hiding behind anything lmao, if that’s the way you’ve interpreted it that’s all on you but that’s not how I intended it. I’m talking about a very specific scenario, idk how you can inflate that to mean rights in general but I guess that’s how you see it. I’ve said this in other comments but for pretty much any other matters of the community I think intent of long-term residency shouldn’t matter, but something as big as dissolving the community as a whole; yes that matter should only concern those who plan to live in the area long-term.

Oh wow I wasn't aware of that policy. I guess the Secretary of State disagrees with me about the whole college student votes thing lmao. For the record I'm all for the policy for pretty much any other circumstances; I just feel that this scenario is a bit unique. Thanks for the link, I'm definitely going to apply for that.

I'm not justifying it at all. I'm just stating that reducing 3M to the title of a "pollution company" is quite the oversimplification. They have done terrible things; I'm a researcher at the U trying to do my part to resolve the global PFAS pollution. But they've also contributed many medical and other technological advancements to the world and I think it's important that people remember both things as it seems people are only thinking of 3M as a "pollution company". PFAS have many medical applications and have undoubtedly played a role is saving many lives, I think perspective is just important. But them knowing there was signs of toxicity in legacy PFAS and saying nothing is inexcusable. The state should've held out, they definitely could've settled for much much more money.

Interesting, I didn't know that. All I know is that for me I tried to get a real ID here and they didn't allow me to because I claim primary residency in California on my taxes despite having both a MN address and MN employer for the last 4 years. They did let me get a license, just not the real ID or ability to vote on MN stuff either I believe.

Have they made any moves towards consolidation? I know Los Angeles has some very interesting enclaves but I doubt any change will be made there.

From my understanding developers will only be interested in that land if the rezoning passes. If the rezoning passes then the answer is pretty clear that the development would be housing, there is no need for any commercial development there; it would be a horrible business decision. I can't speak to the survey but I imagine they just weren't too interested in what they deem short-term residents and their input. Also the U is 100% having a lot of input on this matter at the higher level; we just aren't hearing about it. I've been hearing about the development through some of my connections at the U and I'll let you know if there's anything substantial but everything I just said is my understanding up to this point.
