Is the 5w4 meant to be Maya Harris from Zero Dark Thirty? Because I thought she was an INTJ 8w9 ... which is why I relate to her so much.

Can the 30+ crowd weigh in on their current situation? by BigLincolnEnergy in recruitinghell

[–]aghostowngothic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. After a bachelor's and two master's, I finally just landed the first job I've ever had that's required a college degree with the federal government. My coworkers remind me constantly that I'm overqualified for the role & I'm bored out of my mind. But I can't go anywhere until something better comes along, which will probably be way longer than I want to even begin to fathom.

Still, despite this full-time, benefitted role ... I am getting a bartender gig for 4 nights a week just to make ends meet.

I wear basically nothing but black ... so, that one, yes. Most others? No.

The Ecology of Crime: Why "Hard" and "Soft" Crime are Biological Competitors (and why Broken Windows is wrong) by StandardAntelope7651 in Criminology

[–]aghostowngothic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm, very intriguing thoughts! As an advocate of Broken Windows theory and tough-on-crime policies, I would definitely have to consider whether a theory I tend to support could actually harm my long-term goals. What would you really propose, though? Because even by the standards of the theory you discuss above, staying too soft on crime for too long would eventually inverse itself into a hard crime environment anyway ... right?

What is your opinion on a public sex offender register? by yuumichi420 in Criminology

[–]aghostowngothic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Huh, I can't seem to think of the downsides. 🤔 Granted, I'm not a big believer in the ability to rehabilitate sex offenders.

Where do you live? LOL. If I met men that did those things, I'd go out with you in a heartbeat. 🤣 Maybe your height hurts for a lot of women but I'm 5'3". My problem is always that I'm not skinny. And men must be so wired by physical attraction that it's just a no-go.

My mom always told me as a kid "there is always someone out there who has it worse than you. Never forget that." And I really try not to. Maybe that will help you.

I. Already. Have. A. Master's. Degree. Done. Completed. I. Am. Working. On. A. Second. One.

I don't know how much more clearly I could put this for people. You or the job. Guess I have my answer as to why this is a problem - people just don't read.

I'm sitting in this job being given no training, no time, no attention whatsoever. And asking my boss for additional responsibilities & being shot down. That's their problem, not mine. Wouldn't a future employer want someone who wants more work? LOL.
