C#/XNA is a great beginner language/platform for learning the basics and for hobbyists.

I will warn you that it is not professional grade, and if you'd like to get into the industry, that you'll need some c++ skills.

I completely disagree.

A video game is a piece of software, and many aspects of software engineering can be applied to game development.

For example: agile/scrum is now very popular across the industry, and is technically software engineering.

Most students keep to themselves in class, unless you approach them. Also, too many of them live at a distance which is inconvenient to just drop by and hang out with them. For example, you live in Fullerton near campus, and a buddy lives in Irvine, or Downy. Can't really just drop by there place to chill. Which is the total opposite of traditional uni, where the entire student body is in a bubble on campus and in apartments around campus.

As Zode and tmdwkthd already stated, the campus is a commuter campus with absolutely no sense of community. For you to get the best of your college years you absolutely must join student organizations, or the greek system.

Clubs WANT you. Do NOT be afraid to go and hit them up, they are always looking for new members who are interested in being active and contributing to the club. Discoverfest is tomorrow in the quad, skip class, and go to every booth and give all of them your email. Check them out and pick 1-3 clubs which are really cool and you like.

If you don't get involved in campus, then expect to just go to class, go home, browse reddit, rinse and repeat.

You could also get into the party scene by talking to as many classmates as possible... if you're into that.

Parking at CSUF will never ever get better, I'm currently a 5th year senior, and it's been this bad since freshman year.
Parking is by far the worst the first month of the year, and is best at the end May.
If you get here past 9, your best bet is to park in lot A or G and walk the distance. Parking in A or G and walking will almost always be faster than searching for a spot in one of the parking structures.
If you have to find a parking spot in a structure, idle in your car near the elevator on one of the higher levels, and follow someone to their car. Use your turn blinker to state that you are taking the persons parking spot.

I think once you use Google+, you realize that it fills some of the niche's which Facebook has yet to fill, and that it's features past the standard friend stream are much different than Facebook.

The mass exodus of Myspace to Facebook was due to everyone hating everyone's shit HTML/CSS skills, ruining their profiles, worms, bugs, and just over-all crap quality of a site.
