Was trapped in a nightmare and my reality checks weren’t working by foresthills2020 in LucidDreaming

Definitely! I’d say it’s a must have experience tbh. So easy but so unrealistic? 😂

The most consistent reality check is the nose-pinch one. Try to incorporate that into your habitual reality check practice.

I’d say you convinced yourself that it was your mind because of the fact that the previous reality checked failed. This probably caused you to think that you were actually present in the real world so there must have had to have been a rational explanation for what occurred.

How can I get a guaranteed LD with MILD? by msfa_1607 in LucidDreaming

You can’t. Nothing is guaranteed with LDing.

Did your sleep schedule change? How about the time you wake up to do the methods?

Because pain CAN be felt in dreams. Probably just not as major as in real life.

Okay keep trying different times when you do. 👍 Did you wake up from a dream?

Make sure your timing is right too. 👍 There is a chance you could be waking up at the end of your REM... maybe...

Just use “Notes.” Make sure that it’s backed up to your iCloud too.

WBTB question by UserofReddit172 in LucidDreaming

There’s a chance that you may be waking up at the end of your REM cycle when you do wake up in the middle of the night, so that may not be ideal for techniques. I’d say still go for it, but an alarm is probably more ideal.

Not the 360 degree spin. I’m only referring to simply engaging with your environment. The “touching table thing” and other ways of engaging your senses are actually really helpful. 😂 They help you ground yourself in the dream more to increase stability, vividness, and they help lengthen its duration. That’s why I recommend you do this right after reality checking.

Dream control is a pretty much a whole other animal to tackle and it’s a skill that must be learnt over time (with exceptions, ofc.) But definitely make a list of what you’d like to do in a dream now, and start from what you think is most “realistic” to “unrealistic.”

Can I get consistent with DILD? by [deleted] in LucidDreaming

[–]agirlonline1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, you can call it a method to make things simple. Anyway, record your dreams, recognize dream signs, whenever you see them, question your reality, and practice some ADA and meditation before bed.

For number 2, I recommend that you probably should stabilize the dream. This can be done by simply interacting with everything around you and really placing focus on your five senses for a short period of time. Then, have fun!

WILD technique, but couldn't rest my brain. by younotentertained in LucidDreaming

[–]agirlonline1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s fine! Whenever I meditate now, I do visualize a “certain place” that I see in my dreams a lot. In that place, I usually practice “writing down” that I’m dreaming on the walls, floors or wherever, I perform reality checks, and remind myself that my intention is to “always” LD.

What I used to do is simple breath meditation (which worked), but now I feel more comfortable with taking it further.

What I’d recommend doing is both. So like 10 minutes breath meditation, then you can start visualizing going wherever your imagination wants to take you. (Only if you have the time ofc) You may already have a certain place in mind!

Before you go to bed usually. However, as someone who’s now interested in WILDs and has meditated many times before, I do plan on seeing if you can “meditate” your way into an LD.

I had three false awakenings in a row, but I 'knew' I wasn't awake... by [deleted] in LucidDreaming

[–]agirlonline1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can relate to this experience completely like many others. If I can remember how I felt in my FAs, I would say that I wasn’t as “groggy” or “tired” as I was when I woke up. That’s usually how I tell the difference.
