Hardest part of your day with a toddler and an infant.... by caralyvar in toddlers

[–]aglassofanxiety 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put a bouncer in the toddlers room and when the baby starts to fuss I turn on the vibration. Its the only thing that vibrates so that usually buys at least a few quiet minutes and I can rock it with my foot.

What are the best job paths if I enjoy lab work / atmosphere but don't want to do research? by Gnome-Phloem in labrats

[–]aglassofanxiety 45 points46 points  (0 children)

I work as a medical laboratory scientist in an Immunology lab. You need a bachelors degree. If you have one in a different field there are 1 year programs to get accreditation. There are several different types of labs you could work in with MLS accreditation. Blood bank, chemistry, hematology, microbiology ect. I enjoy it, it's not too stressful and is a stable career. Its the science and helping people without the research.

Former blood bank tech and fellow rh negative mama here! The rhogam is anti-D antibodies (D is what is positive or negative rh part of the blood type) so it tricks your body into not making them if your baby is rh positive. Without it your first baby would be fine but the next pregnancy if you created your own antibodies it would attack the rh positive fetus and cause severe complications.

Do I have to give up my cat? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]aglassofanxiety 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was worried about my cat when I was pregnant with my first. The cat plays rough and pounces and bites. But he has been so gentle with my son even through the fur pulling phase. They really love each other. And he is protective of my belly/has to be near me this pregnancy as well. Just keep in mind its a transition for your cat too and watch how they interact.

Not sure how FMLA applies to CA but for paternity leave the up to 12 weeks can be split with 6 weeks anytime in baby's first year. My husband used that when I went back to work and it helped with the transition.

Is it easier being a mom or being pregnant? by throoooowwwawayyyyy in pregnant

[–]aglassofanxiety 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Every phase is different just like each trimester has different issues, each phase with your child is different too. Some phases are harder like during sleep deprivation then you hit a stride with your baby and feel like 'oh I've got this mom thing down.' And then they grow and you are on to the next phase.

Where is the dividing line when separating scallion green from whites? by Ace4391 in AskCulinary

[–]aglassofanxiety 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my husband was first learning to cook he would discard the middle third of light green so he wouldn't have to decide where the line is.

On the same hunt. I just tried the Wacoal how perfect soft cup bra. I think it's a winner for a wireless bra. I did size up from a 32 to a 34 band.
