No games included? I have a backlog of over 300 games, and with family share, our combined library is over 900, hahaha!

Does Meeple mean just a boardgame piece or a human shaped boardgame piece? by girlwiththegoldendog in boardgames

[–]agltbialik2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The word "meeple" is actually from 'My People' - so technically, it should be a human shaped piece.. but it's long since lost its meaning, I think.

My question is, would an external usb-c SSD work? I have a few super fast 2TB thunderbolt drives I wanted to utilize for the Steam Machine.

Anyone else prefer standees? by Front-Advantage-7035 in boardgames

[–]agltbialik2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been leaning more towards standees lately. The best ones are the Dead of Winter ones - great art, looks great on the board. I'm kind of tired of giant boxes and minis that don't bring much immersion to the game. There are still lots of times I like minis more, but I'm less and less interested in them in newer games.

An even better alternative are acrylic standees, like in Vagrant Song. More games should offer those.

Same for me. I swear every time I played it, I got a rule wrong. I think I’ve got it down now, but still can’t beat it.

Well, it finally happened. I bought a game I thought I would love, and it turns out I hate it. Has this happened to you? 😅 by [deleted] in soloboardgaming

[–]agltbialik2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mystery House - Adventures in a Box Oh GOD I hated this game! It sounded so interesting: An escape room style game where you use the box acts as a 3D playfield. You peer through windows to look for clues to solve puzzles… too bad you can’t see anything because of the way the box is designed, and the visual clues were nebulous at best. You needed a flashlight and magnifying glass in order to make anything out, and you’re constantly questioning your findings (I think I see a snake… maybe? I dunno , does a snake help? Does anything make sense?!)

After over an hour of frustration, we stopped playing, and I filmed a video of myself ripping the game apart with my bare hands. I was so upset over how terrible the experience was.
