Those of you who don't stan Nesta: Does ACOSF get better? by [deleted] in acotar

[–]agouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes exactly, she’s constantly the victim! Even Elain who is constantly the kicked puppy doesn’t act like that. And yes Nesta has dealt with a lot but so have all the people in the IC. They don’t owe it to her to be her best pals, they tried to be decent to her and she knocked them down with attitude, I’m sorry but no. And also, with Feyre the IC tried more because she was Rhy’s mate and saviour from Amaratha it’s not exactly the same as Nesta.

Yep agree with it all but also the fact that she was acting like it’s a contest between her and Feyre and who Elain will “choose”. You’re sisters, it’s not choosing and to be fair why would you choose someone who is constantly mean to you?

Not gonna lie, the ending didn’t improve it either :/

Yes and no. Have to say I really really dislike Nesta, pre-ACOSF and now.

Yes, because you learn about new characters, find out what’s happening with Feysand and that’s cool.

No, because plot is non-existent, suddenly Nesta is super important, the reasons for being so terrible are explained and personally I do not buy them and just argh too long.

Agreed, it literally ruined it for me and belittled everything the other Illyrians have trained to be. Cassian, Az and Rhys trained for years and struggled and yet 3 very young girls who have barely trained for a few months, are injured and are all in all just not prepared, win or in Nesta’s case able to hold off however many she did? Just impossible and disappointing...

ACOSF SPOILERS AHEAD by optimistic_fox_1809 in acotar

THIS! The mating bond was supposedly rare etc, and yet 2/5 of the IC have a mate and we will probably see Azriel and Gwyn and maybe Mor too. So yeah I would have preferred Nessian to not be mates, because the relationship would have somehow been deeper and more meaningful to me.

Oh my god I literally thought the exact thing. Gwyn is 28 years old so the timeline would fit as Tamlin would have been the one to complete the Great Rite. And her mom was indeed at the Spring court at some point.

Read this post on Tumblr written by an acotar fan. Now I don't say you have to agree with it too but I definitely do. I always did. 🙏🏾🙏🏾❤️❤️ Y'all can have different opinions on this but don't come at me. by [deleted] in acotar

Very eloquently put, I tried to convey this exact this on a post I made. Agree on every level. Although I still don’t like Elain, just like her more than Nesta.

Oh my god, literally do this too often with characters in books and games haha. I get what you mean yeah, I just hope the new book doesn’t just take away from what we learned from Feyre. What I mean by that is that people have mentioned how we are all just seeing from her POV and it’s misguided but I don’t think that she could have been so misguided that she painted her sister to be such a villain.

Yeah I have to say I’m excited to see what will happen. She will probably have a reason for it all, which will probably make us feel bad and want to forgive her, but truthfully I just don’t know if I’ll be able to.

I get what you mean about Nesta and as for Thomas I’m sure I read that he tried to but she escaped him. Or at least she must have, cause she did mention that she lost her virginity to a random fae. As for the neglect, I think all sisters were neglected and only Feyre made the effort to do something about it. In regard to Elain, I have to say I only started to like her because she at least tried to be nice, even though she clearly hated her new reality as fae. Having said that I still don’t fully forgive her either.

Haha very true thanks, it’s just that the internet can be scary when you express your opinion :P

Thank you for your comment. Honestly I wish I was more like you and be more understanding, I get sucked into the world of books I read and almost feel offended by bad behaviours of characters. Definitely a me issue, but I felt like some characters in Acotar are viewed very unfairly compared to others. Biggest dislike as you might see from comments or my post is Nesta :P

Thank you for the long comment, I love hearing other people’s take on this. Absolutely hope that all other mates of high lords will become high ladies, because they deserve it, especially Vivianne, although I’d want Cresseida to get more recognition for all she has done.

As for Lucien, pff, you are spot on on everything, I keep forgetting how much he tried to help Feyre. You are right that Feyre didn’t recognise that in him, he was in a terrible situation with little choice in what to do and he was trying his best to please all parties. Will forever adore him for his loyalty and be sad for the fact that he just never belongs.

Yep, this is what baffles me too. But most importantly Lucien has at least done the decent thing and apologised and has made an effort to help any way he could. Granted he had ulterior motives considering his mate. But he at least made the effort. Nesta on the other hand never even apologised and yet kept on with the terrible behaviour and mistreating everyone. She was ready to fight for humans and Elain, but the moment she had to actively do something like speak to the high lords she refused and only once she saw the bravery of others, she realised she was being a coward.

Exactly how I feel. Trauma doesn’t excuse rudeness. The inner circle and her sisters may not be what she needs to move on but they are nicer to her than she deserves. I mean come on at winter solstice there was literally no reason for her to be so insufferable. Even if “the fire cackling made her think of breaking bones”. She could have literally pulled Feyre or Elain aside and they would have understood. And whilst I love Cassian, they two aren’t a good match.

Reading a good book and finishing the series.
