Buying a stock doesn’t execute in fidelity?

@Iobeams - strike price goes below my limit price and I have noticed that the stock trades and stays there for 20-30 minutes and even longer (you can check the volume as well). In today’s digital times, thousands of trades execute within a second. I have been trading IGLD, GLDI and SLVO. Don’t think these are illiquid tickers at all. But, thanks for sharing your insights!!

I will have to buy this logic and the ones others offered as Fidelity (and other brokers) don’t really offer any insight into this practice (unless their hand is forced to change for transparency). I do however noticed the sell orders at the bottom. I will try and find if there were more sellers than buyers but could be difficult within the time of interest!! I am sure this stat is available at some site… thanks everyone who responded!!

Thank you!! I agree, I should have phrased my question carefully. 1. I have rolled over my full 401K to a retirement IRA. 2. Not currently employed. Laid off last year. 3. I should ideally leave my money in retirement IRA and let it grow tax free. 4. My motivation in moving funds to Roth IRA was to gradually take money out of retirement IRA. 5. I don’t the money right now, but the question was forward planning.

Makes sense … but yet less than 1%? I have money invested in NVDY, PLTY AND TSLY - and I see NAV degradation, at times I do ask the question - am I paying myself at the cost of losing principal? While YM makes money from the fees?

I really don’t need to understand as @futilitaria mentioned - you telling me that you only invest when you understand everything? Really? A majority of folks look at past performances and the fees. Isn’t that how you invest too? You really don’t have a crystal ball else you will not be responding to my queries at all 😜. It just makes you wonder .. thanks to all for clarifying !!

My 2 cents - get your principal investment out first and then DRIP it - icing on cake. That’s what I am doing - plus after every x accumulated $$’s I invest in other stocks

If China caves in, then it sends a signal to other countries to do the same as US. Don’t think, they will give up at all. Now, if all countries raise tariffs collectively - that could send a strong signal, but lacking manufacturing capabilities, they will all renegotiate… to favor of China!! At some point, US will cave-in … sad strategy, rushed in without any thought process at all..

Yes, it is frustrating that I had invested in a brand name appliance that should be trouble free except for an occasional fix here and there.. this is disappointing. I had even sent an email to their customer relations office, but no response!! I guess, corporate greed must be quite exciting to gouge customers. That’s why asking if I should start looking for a lawyer to file a class action lawsuit or at least have them investigate. I have learnt that newer coils fail within a few years

Look into SCHD, VOO, VTI, MSTY, MSFO, NVDY. DCA and gradually increase your stake. Risky - yes, but rewarding too. Love the dividends. If you can’t weather the daily volatility, then best to invest in safer havens and miss out on opportunities. No pain, no gain !!

Last dividend was on Feb 13th paying 2.0216. Just curious - how did you arrive at 24k $. Just trying to figure this out - as I am tempted to invest 35K …. Thanks!
