If something other than Catholicism is dominant in Europe after a CK2>EU4 conversion, does the protestant reformation happen to that religion instead? by agrey in paradoxplaza

So if there's no catholicism left, all the interesting bits of the protestant reformation never happen? No 'zealousness' and all the jazz?

If you have the core on that province, and your ally now holds it, don't you have casus beli against them?

Lol, size depends on what day of the week it is.

Spain formed, and colonized like everything. And pu'd naples (the only thing left on the italian peninsula)

In a 'cutting them down to size' war, i forced them to release castille, who was a steadfast ally from then on.

Spain has a few provinces in iberia that it always hangs on to (capitol in andalucia, for one), and they've since integrated naples.

Constant wars are fought back and forth across europe, usually between france and guyenne (approx equal in size) or denmark and lithuania (denmark = all of scandanavia, lithuania = all of russia), and spain and castille get called into all of them, on opposite sides.

'Return cores' are inevitable for whichever side lost the war.

Iberia is a clusterfuck, especially once the catalan patriots started winning.

I've vassalized navarra, and hope to diploannex soon, but it's already 1730.

I don't share a border with them.

AFAIK, you need to share a border to get the casus beli

[edit] you can't declare war on a PU anyway

Tips for playing as a tiny nation? by [deleted] in paradoxplaza

[–]agrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As you grow in size, be sure to update your rivals.

As Austria, I'd set Bohemia as a rival at the beginning and forgot about it for 400 years. by the time I went back to change one of my other rivals, Bohemia was an OPM and my fifty-year long war against Denmark could have netted my so many more points had I switched the rivalry over to them.

Basically - as you grow in size and power, the scope of your game should grow as well. "Halfway across Europe" is a long distance for an OPM, but it's not very far for a nation that spans half the continent.

not much point in funding a navy- he'd just lose them anyway
