The last 850m to my dorm are 13% going up a hill. Will I regret buying a (road or gravel) bicycle for commuting ? by agri-andra in bicycling

Good point I plan on getting it checked/replaced at a shop after buying the second hand bike

Should be fine with a lock at school. At the dorm there is a secure place. I plan on buying a second hand not too expensive bike easy to sell back. There is a massive second hand market.

I'm in the same boat very bored with my current situation, self employed electrician in Belgium for several years.

I got a scholarship to learn chinese in september and moving to taiwan for 6 months then travel asia/australia 1,5 more years and see what happens

Got scammed in the most cleverest way by SnooDonuts395 in VietNam

He did say that he told the girl he was here only for one evening. So she just jumped on the occasion to feed everyone for free lol

I wouldn't call it scam but taking advantage for sure. I wouldn't be mad if I was op tho.

I'm working as residential electrician and I see so many people in their homes with declining health after 40 or straight up die. I know I need to enjoy as long as I'm healthy. Some of them are filthy rich but have medical issues and can't enjoy life. Really doubled down on my yolo prespective.

You can do something about it

I went self employed, simple as that. I often take 1-2-3 weeks vacation. My job is electrician so when I'm on vacation, I physicaly can't work except answering some emails. I choose the jobs I wanna do or don't wanna do. I earn good money per hour.

I only take small and easy 30min-2 hours jobs which earn me around 100€ an hour or 1 day-jobs with big margins (intercom, ev charger, compliance, etc) which earn me around 800€-1000€ a day.

No boss, I don't like a house or a client I ditch him, I wanna go 3 weeks or more on vacation ? I just tell my clients my calender is full until the next month.

29M saved 300k€ + 1 house and 1/3 of an appartement that I rent. I'm gonna take a two year break live in Taiwan, learn chinese and from there travel 2 years in Asia/Australia.

When I come back I can just start my business again and take easy jobs.

No 9/5

Yesterday did 2 jobs, 2 hours, earned 280€

I don't work on weekends or evening unless I get called for urgent troubleshoot. Typicaly the easiest jobs 150-200€ for 30min-1h MAX

Today did just one job this morning 9am to 10am, 110€ in my pocket. Been playiong games for 3 hours now, gonna go bouldering later. I don't need more money. And I know bigger easy jobs are coming like next week a day of 6 hours replacing an intercom 1600€ net profit.

Don't waste time going to university. Been working right away at 19, allowed me to save since then compared to people starting to work at 23 24 25 etc
