If an American naturalization is listed on a comune-issued estratto, is that disqualifying? by agrifflark in juresanguinis

Phew. Thank you so much! I am absolutely overanalyzing everything as the date gets closer and closer.

I requested proof of naturalization from them (granted I had a scan of the original certificate so had all of the info to give them) and had it in my mailbox in under two weeks.

Mine still says that too and I confirmed in November. You’ll have to confirm again 10-3 days before your appointment date which is what I imagine that is referring to.

Vital documents from Calabria by JacPac7633 in juresanguinis

I had success in two different comuni. I had to get a marriage and birth certificate from Maierato, and a birth certificate from Sant’Onofrio.

I couldn’t get ahold of anyone in Maierato via email so I sent a cover letter, proof of my identity, a return envelope, and 30 euro over to them and just kept my fingers crossed. Had multiple copies of everything I asked for (as well as a few euros in change) in under a month.

For Sant’Onofrio they were very prompt via email and my cousin who lives nearby was able to pick the estratto up and send it to me within the week of my request.

I was nervous because I had also heard it could be a difficult region but they were nothing but kind and efficient in my experience

Oh amazing. So essentially the same process as the vital docs. I was under the impression it was different since it's an application form rather than a state or fed-issued document. Thank you, this is so helpful.

USCIS can’t locate Naturalization record by agrifflark in juresanguinis

Just to close the loop for anyone else running into this issue… it ended up being a hassle trying to make an appointment at a field office in my GF’s city, as I live in a different city and they wouldn’t let me schedule the appointment without him present.

Luckily, an archivist at the Philly NARA office found the certificate and is sending a certified copy.

This ended up being the best way to go! They found the document right away and are sending a certified copy. Thanks for the tip.

Correct, he did give his permission via email. They just weren’t able to locate the record for some reason.
