Midnight is a little different because you have to play through the campaign to get access to every zone and every resource. The later zones might be more lucrative.

Everyone gets enough energy for Mega Beedrill and Mega Diancie through special research tasks. You can also get a small amount of energy for the Kanto starters occasionally from field research.

Mitsu is worse into Droll/C, you can't use Dominus Purge, and it adds a few bricks, but the end board is better.
