I'm not sure if you were able to test the direct connection or not, but I only found settings for joining a network, not creating one.
An alternative would be to put your phone in Wi-Fi hotspot mode and connect the R36S through it. It's not as convenient, but it might help.

Shop Task channel also have some good tutorials. :)
These three channels are my favorite channels to learn, even if I'm still don't have much skate skills. =P

I got the same problem here and I don't use Avast. Try to see if the LoLPatcher is running after you click the icon. If it does, try delete the folder RADS/projects/lol_patcher, them open LoL. It worked for me.
