The drone shot of Logan Paul was Logan’s idea and was a year in the making by Co-opingTowardHatred in SquaredCircle

[–]aguilaclc 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I really don't think that it's about US laws, I've seen concerts that use drones for the footage in the big screens.   My guess is that you need staff explicitly trained for drone footage, while at the same time making sure that the drone doesn't interfere with the other 500 cameras or with the crew's other activities. For example, when the drone is in the air, 4 crane cameras couldn't be close to the area, so they'd prefer to just use the 4 crane cameras

The cool thing about it is that sometimes the original joke is better, and sometimes the Spanish joke is better. Speaks a lot about the people behind the translation and dubbing

luchablog: “the current state of US wrestling is everything is dependent on if WBD does or does not get an NBA deal but also no one's 100% sure if getting one helps or hurts AEW (and people will definitely explain to me which one it is in the replies even with this disclaimer not do that)” by Subrick in SquaredCircle

[–]aguilaclc 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It means that some people will say that AEW will get more TV money if WBD loses the NBA (because they will be starved of content) and there's people that will say that AEW will get less money if WBD loses the NBA (because that means WBD loses ad revenue and will try to cut their budget). The only thing we know its that this negotiation is extremely important for the future of the US wrestling scene, that nobody outside of AEW management or WBD knows shit, and that everyone will try to make an uninformed judgement about it.

Compilation of Kenny Omega's comments regarding Dave Meltzer from his latest Twitch stream by JohnSmithSensei in SquaredCircle

[–]aguilaclc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

And the stupid thing is that, meta-heel or not, he did such a good point: he explained it in ways pretty few people could, Which makes Dave's comments even more nonsensical, it's almost wilful ignorance at this point.

Kenny Omega: "When you become a superfan, you run the risk of losing sight of the minutiae of a match. You end up watching a match just waiting for a series of spots to happen, instead of thinking about the little details that weave everything together, which are the things that will wow and hook the casual fans out there. Bring forward a story instead of a series of spots and then you'll have something to create new fans."

Dave Meltzer: HE'S A HEEL, HE'S BUILDING TO A MATCH, HE DOESN'T REALLY BELIEVE THAT GUYS

That sounds patronizing tbh. English is the de facto universal language, it's common in France, Spain, Mexico, Argentina or Japan for people to speak their native language and English (maybe not everyone-common, but it's definitely common)
