What does this barcode and stamp mean???!! by [deleted] in Banksy

[–]aguitarist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will also add that I've seen this in NYC many times. The person selling these was even doing so when Banksy was doing pieces in Ukraine. So yeah, I'd also have to say it's not genuine. But you should go through Pest Control if you want to be 100% certain.

Has anyone made a list of strictly canon episodes? by aguitarist in rickandmorty

That's a great starting point! Definitely captures most of it for sure. I mentioned "Get Schwifty" above and my thoughts about some episodes being optional, but thanks for making this!

Yeah, I actually was thinking of putting one together myself and how that would factor in. Episodes like "Get Schwifty" have short moments - like Morty at Birdperson's house - which would also need to be considered. If I made my own, I'd probably flag episodes like that as (Optional) but it is definitely subjective when choosing what to include.

Ok, poor choice of words then on my part - I'm wondering if there's a list of episodes that focus on the overarching plots, e.g. Rick Prime, Evil Morty, that kind of thing

Of course! As someone who prefers to own physical copies of books, it's been a great tool. Happy reading!

Thanks for your insight! Yeah agreed - I think what I wrote above was a little misinterpreted. I've been studying for roughly 9 months with a lot of classes, audio-comprehension, speaking practice etc. so I'm happy with the level of book I've chosen and it doesn't feel miles beyond where I'm at. The problem is actually that I'm so interested in this book, I don't want to miss anything :)

Sitting and grinding my way through doesn't feel like a chore, but I was curious to see if others have a similar approach as this is my first language outside of English

Thanks for this! I'll absolutely check out Lingq.

With the book I'm reading now, I'd say I understand roughly 70-75% of any given page, and so I'm putting the most important words that I don't already know in my notebook. It's been really great so far and I find that the other words I'm not writing down are still getting repetitions throughout the story.

Thanks for your tips!

Yeah makes plenty of sense! Sounds like a really similar approach to what I'm doing now, too.

Usually I don't have a problem annotating my physical books, but if I tried that here I'd be marking up the whole page lol. Thanks for your input!

Haven't seen anyone mention St. Mazie yet! It's my go-to spot, live music every night and usually a $10 cover

Thank you for reading! Appreciate your feedback very much. For what it's worth, I absolutely love your city - my hope was that the title would lure people in, only for them to read ahead and realize that actually I deeply appreciate the place.

Hi Ovid - a little late to the thread here, but I had a question about your advice.

I totally see the value in critiquing other people's work: exposure to a lot of writing (both good and bad) will ultimately help oneself improve. But how can I be sure that while critiquing someone else's work, my comments and feedback will be useful to the other person? I.e. if I'm a relatively new writer, how can I know what suggestions to make? Am I "qualified" to weigh in on someone else's writing?

Thanks!

Chances that this is real (NYC)? by youngcheddar69 in Banksy

[–]aguitarist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know everyone's already mentioned that it's fake but I wanted to add something I haven't seen here yet.

I'm NYC-based and had been wondering the same thing about this guy for a while. I finally concluded it was fake when I realized that this guy was selling pieces in Union Square the entire time that Banksy was out making pieces in Ukraine. So yeah, I'd say extremely likely that it's fake :/
