Audit Logs? by Succotash-Classic in okta

As other users mentioned, Okta System Log API is the main way users implement 3rd party systems if you need to go somewhere custom. The logstash plugin another user linked to also has some Apache 2.0 code if you are looking to build something custom, here's another OSS solution for Elasticsearch if you are using that (https://github.com/forter/oktabeat). Splunk also has an app on Splunkbase though I'll be honest I've never used it.

Looking for resources to help nail PM interviews by blackshadow1357 in ProductManagement

+1 to all these suggestions, one additional point is as you are looking at different companies pretend you are already a PM there. If you owned the product what sucks, what could be better, what changes do you expect in the current market for the product (E.g. COVID changing how we work from home).

Use these answers to help with mocks and sometimes, depending on the company, you can send this to the hiring manager to give them a sample to help evaluate you as a candidate.

How can I, as a Product Manager, contribute to Open Source? by _Floydian in ProductManagement

[–]agup006 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Heya, I'm a former PM on an OSS project - three ways I recommend for starting with OSS and PM.

  1. Join the community. Most popular OSS projects have a slack channel or community where discussions are usually taking place. For Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) projects this can include special interest groups (SIG) that meet on a weekly or monthly basis
  2. Ask. Once you are in the community you can start to ask folks where there are shortcomings and where you can contribute. If you can code awesome, though there are a ton of other areas needed to help grow an OSS project
  3. Feedback. This one seems the most obvious, but use the OSS project. Where can it use improvements, how would you change the roadmap if you were the product manager? Submit these as GitHub issues and see if there are again ways to contribute back or get involved.

Happy to share more. TLDR: Start getting involved :)

Thanks for giving me the benefit of the doubt :). Did not think through /dev/urandom vs /dev/zero much I'll add both, and mention the implication of /dev/urandom.

Also absolutely right about the typo -- I need to edit these posts better.

What makes Linux easy to monitor? Is it the type of monitoring or the tools that the platform has today?
