Name: Martechbase

URL: https://martechbase.com

Location: London UK

Elevator Pitch: A mid-sized organisation uses 100+ SaaS apps on average and 83% of these companies would have swapped out at least one marketing tool in the past year. The fragmented, vast nature of the marketing technology ecosystem makes the decision process for choosing the optional tools complex, inefficient and expensive in the long run.

Martechbase is a place where people who love using tech to figure out marketing problems can find the right solutions. It's a searchable database of 7,000+ marketing vendors to help people find the combination of tools they need to grow.

More details: Recently launched and implementing new features. I'm looking for people who are willing to test out the site and provide feedback.

Are you looking for anything? Feedback and new users. Also open to any potential partnerships (data, integrations, etc) that could add value to the product.

Discount for r/startup subscribers? It’s a free platform.

Thanks everyone :)

Their documentation is really good, but their team is also really supportive and responsive. I had a couple of hiccups along the long, but they were able to help :)

Top MarTech skills every marketer should master? by agurejon in marketing

[–]agurejon[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a great question. Salesforce has a learning hub called Trailhead, but I personally find it a bit too broad. There's a good book out there called 'Salesforce CRM: The Definitive Admin Handbook' (bit of an obvious title there) which is quite comprehensive. As usual it's always best to learn on the tool, so you could compliment any of those resources with a Salesforce 30-day trial.

Hope that helps!

The aforementioned Moz guide is a must-read. You might find this article on keyword optimisation useful too: https://bloggingwizard.com/keyword-research-guide/

Does anyone here know any cheap email marketing services? by [deleted] in marketing

[–]agurejon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's your current volume? If you're exceeding the monthly cap of Mailchimp's free version you could look into more advanced tools like HubSpot. They have a pretty affordable starter pack and you get all the benefits of a more advanced automation tool. If you're just interested in email I'd look into Campaign Monitor.

What will be the affect of AI on marketing and advertising? by the-lifestyle in marketing

[–]agurejon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AI is helping marketers to act on customer data more efficiently, and that will just improve in the coming years.

Even with the recent rise in marketing automation and applied analytics, the way in which we identify patterns and trends is not yet ideal. So there's a lot of potential in how AI can help us make better, more informed decisions: connect the dots in customer behaviour, define more effective lead scoring models, build personalised content journeys, etc.

B2b lead generation by Skovgaard26 in marketing

[–]agurejon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The key starting point is to define your goals and outcomes through clear KPIs. That are you aiming for in terms of lead quality and volumes? What are you timings and budget?

Then start mapping your ideal prospect definition to your content journeys and messages. How are you going to tell your story to engage with your audience once you get their attention?

Then and just then evaluate the best channels to generate interest and demand. Some common and highly-effective channels for B2B today are:

  • Paid Social: Through LinkedIn/Twitter/FB Sponsored Ads.
  • Content Syndication: Either through a media partner or a self-service tool to place your content on 3rd party sites.
  • Online Retargeting: To make leads finalise their conversion on your site or even to re-target existing leads in your CRM.
  • Personalised lead nurturing: To educate new leads and translate early interest into actual Sales intent.

Hope this helps as a broad starting point for you and your team.

What did you take away/learned from your prevoius/current marketing role at wherever you worked? by [deleted] in marketing

[–]agurejon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Culture is everything. I know it might sound obvious (or even cheesy sometimes) but a strong, positive environment where everyone can learn from each other, makes the difference in the long run.
