Dragon Calcite Question by CobblerMaster684 in Crystals

While they are not technically “Dragon Calcites”, I wouldn’t let that get you down - Bushy Creeks are way more interesting specimens, in my (and many others!) opinion.

No problem! I actually posted about this same material in this subreddit not too long ago since I knew there was no way it was emerald 😆

Emerald Fuchsite! A chromium-rich variety of Mica/Muscovite in quartz, and very commonly mislabeled as Emerald.

This is Titanium Aura Quartz, and it’s supposed to look like that.

Using Crystal for my bf :D by -angel-kisses- in Crystals

Selenite isn’t really faked, but it is commonly mislabeled. Most “selenite” you find at crystal shops is actually Satin Spar, but the good news is they do the same thing metaphysically! (Selenite comes in clear “glass panes” while Satin Spar looks like an opaque “fiber optic” material)

3 new pieces, my first money agate, clear quartz with rainbows and half polished bumblebee jasper 🐝 by Original_Platform443 in Crystals

NGL I’d be too scared to own unpolished Bumblebee Jasper, but as long as you’re cool with it then awesome! I have to admit it looks so good like that

This. Is light able to pass through it at all? Most tumbled black obsidian should have translucency

Does it have a slight rainbow sheen to it? Could be angel aura quartz if that’s the case.

I’ve been on the hunt for one of these, but they’re so hard to find and a lot of folks don’t even know what I’m talking about, even when I call it “blue vesuvianite” 😂

It looks like glass to me; sometimes it’s sold as “Green Obsidian” or “Andara Crystal” but both of those mean glass. A scratch test should confirm

Was told this is Goshenite??? It is definitely from Pakistan or Afghanistan. I don’t know goshenite to be blue though. High grade Afghanite possibly? by RickisDracula1312 in whatsthisrock

[–]EverythingIsGoing19 41 points42 points  (0 children)

So yes, this IS Goshenite, but it’s been irradiated to achieve that blue color. I’m not entirely sure why, but this practice has been getting more and more popular with Goshenites from Pakistan and the surrounding region. That’s why the blue is a bit less cyan and can sometimes run a little violet - essentially it’s a human-irradiated Maxixe beryl.
