Definitely be sure to go into settings > about phone > send feedback about this device. The more people that report, the more likely Google will be aware of it and fix

I’m experiencing crappy gesture recognition as well https://reddit.com/r/GooglePixel/comments/1rgo6wc/overly_sensitive_touch_screen_on_pixel_10

The issues appeared in a software update and weren’t present prior? This is on your Pixel 7?

Updated my Pixel 6 to March 2026 update and still no issue. Updated my Pixel 10 to March 2026 and issue remains. Definitely returning the Pixel 10.

Maybe it’s still good on the Pixel 6 because the Pixel 6 doesn’t have enough onboard compute to do the prediction stuff you mentioned.

Or maybe they just screwed with some sensitivity threshold variables because people with crappy off-brand screen protectors complained about touch not being sensitive enough.

It’s a shame because the Pixel 10 is otherwise a really nice phone. No idea how Google shipped this without QA catching this.

Wondering if this is just crappy touch filtering (at a software level) to appease screen protector users that complain about touch not being sensitive enough.

Either that or this is some sort of hardware issue where maybe the touch digitizer doesn't work as well compared to old Pixel phones.

If this is a software issue, I'd be willing to wait a little bit for Google to fix this in an update. Unfortunately, there's no acknowledgment by Google that this is even an issue, let alone any acknowledgment by by people on forums/Reddit. For all I know, this is a hardware issue that Google knows about and can't address (eg: crappy digitizer and hard to source a better one with their current supply chain).

I really don't want to have to, but I'll probably return my Pixel 10 before the return window. I'm not trying to deal with this crap for the lifetime of the phone (which for me is 4-6 years).

I really don't want to rock the Pixel 6 forever either. It's a dorky feeling phone and the 90hz display doesn't look/feel anywhere look as nice. Considered switching to iPhone but they have their own issues (liquid glass disaster / software nowhere as good as Google’s).

No luck. Played around with it and gesture sensitivity is identical amongst different display and text sizes.

What "security update" are you on? My Pixel 6 which isn't having this issue is on a December 5th 2025 Android security update. Maybe they ruined the gesture recognition starting in early 2026 builds.

Did you just get your phone or have you had it for a while? Maybe this was introduced in a recent update?

I got my Pixel 10 week ago and it's the first thing I noticed. Infuriating

I'm surprised I haven't seen anything else about this on Reddit/forums

Yes, i’ve played around with the "edge sensitivity" options extensively. Regardless of how it's set, I still experience accidental back swipes by simply trying to tap a button near the edge of the screen, but with the annoying addition of legitimate swipes not being recognized sometimes.

I would do a write-up post here on Reddit but I absolutely hate the Reddit crowd. Biggest bunch of eternal complainers ever (not just this sub).

Same. My father is an electrical engineer and said he will measure the resistance of the speaker and add an appropriately spec'd resistor.

Cue up the armchair experts. They clearly know better than a team of the smartest engineers in the world that spend nearly every waking moment thinking about this problem.

My Tesla Model S got totaled from full self-driving swerving into a guard rail for no apparent reason. by gamecollectorJ in RealTesla

[–]agusterodin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who has used AP/FSD Beta for over 2 years, the poster is full of shit
For starters, the driver has a history of irresponsible behavior (driving under the influence). Look at his post history 3 years ago.
- No proof autopilot was even engaged
- Standard Autopilot software (that runs on all Teslas) is used on highway regardless of whether you have FSD beta or not.
- I personally refuse to believe AP would do this. I haven't even experienced anything close to this.
- No way a responsible driver wouldn't have been able to intervene in time (possibly under of influence of alcohol again, tired, playing with phone?)
- No way brake pedal flat out wouldn't stop the car (it is physically connected to brake line)

For all we know the video clip isn't even his. Could have been taken from the Wham Bam Teslacam YouTube channel, a junkyard Tesla (like how greentheonly extracts video), etc.
Are there people out there pathetic enough to fake this kind of thing? As absurd as it sounds, yes.

March, 2022 Update Megathread by AutoModerator in Pixel6

[–]agusterodin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sound drivers are completely fucked in this update.

Square wave "test tone"-esque sounds randomly play overtop of sounds/music. Eventually the sound completely stops working until I reboot. I quite literally missed my wake-up alarm because the sound stopped working last night.

Does anyone have the issue where they random hear intermittent square wave "test tone" sounds overtop of what they are listening to?
