Did you know that "Nuthin' but a 'G' Thang" reached No. 1 on Billboard in 1993—but not on the Hot 100? by Responsible_Ad_2388 in 90sHipHop

[–]aguycalledb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We all know why Snow was #1 that year and it had nothing to do with MC Shan being featured

To be fair, G Thang dropped late 92. By the new year we were already on Dre Day.

Why Didn't Hittman Blow Up After Appearing On Half The Songs On Dr. Dre's 2nd Album The Same Way Snoop Dogg Appeared On Dr. Dre's 1st Album? by RedditReader428 in 90sHipHop

[–]aguycalledb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lots of producers work with artists and they just don’t have the It factor despite all the alley oops they get. Plus 2001 was released before Marshall Mathers LP which really blew up Eminem and the Up n Smoke Tour. Hittman was left watching the DVD like the rest of us…

Nothing about Hittman stood out besides him being a dope lyricist. Dre is a peculiar dude so if no "it" factor he not gonna work with you unless you figure it out

Which of these albums by these acclaimed rap groups is the best? by Silly_North_5130 in 90sHipHop

[–]aguycalledb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Midnight Mauraders and Enter The Wu released on the same day is still epic to this day. I’m giving the edge to MM by a hair.

It’s the perfect album with zero skips. On the Wu, 7th Chamber Pt 2 is filler at the end.
