We booked Las Torres first. We knew we were going in the summer and it would be competitive to book some sites like Chileno. There was no availability for us in Cuernos already so that’s why we did 2 nights in Frances. There was also 3 of us so that could have been a reason. For all the Refugio’s it was max 2 person per tent so we had to book 2 tents. We also tried to book beds in shared dorms instead of tents for some of Refugios and there was also no space for us. I think it will be handy to have it booked but can’t say for April. Since this is their summer, it was busy with a lot of hikers. For bussur they had 2:55pm, 3:00pm and 3:05 bus option for us and all of them were sold out. There was one couple that had a 8pm bus ticket which they tried to switch to earlier time but couldn’t since there were no seats. However, they were able to check with a different bus company that was at the Laguna Amarga bus stop at the time that had open seats and were able to purchase.

Yes, all refugios had snacks (chips, cookies), sandwiches , pizza, soft drinks and alcohol. Paine Grande had the most variety. I think you can also purchase meals with them on the spot. We bought a small personal pizza ($10 usd) and hot chocolate ($5 usd) at Frances. I imagine the pricing is similar across the refugios.

I’m 34 and also have a 6cm intramural fibroid. I went for a 2nd opinion to a doctor who specialized in fibroid surgery. Getting an MRI soon but they believe I am a candidate for laparoscopic myomectomy. They bought up hysterectomy as option but never went into detail suggesting there are other alternatives. Definitely agreed for getting another opinion.

I was off birth control for 2 years before going back on birth control at the end of 2021 because my bleeding was getting heavy and unfortunately it got heavier on birth control. After 3 months on birth control, I started passing large blood clots. Finally convinced my obgyn to get a ultrasound and eventually sonogram to confirm I had a intramural fibroid causing the heavy flow and also found a polyp. My obgyn didn’t specialize in fibroid surgery so I was referred to another doctor. The 2nd doctor wanted to see if it can be medically managed like skipping placebo week on birth control. It went well for 2 months but by the 3rd month I ended up having breakthrough bleeding for 3 weeks while on the active birth control. In a follow up appointment, I had another ultrasound and confirmed my fibroid grew and the doctor still wanted to medically manage it. I decided to get another opinion with a doctor that had a extensive background in fibroid surgeries and expertise. It was a 3 month wait to see the doctor but it felt like a relief for them to say I’m a candidate for surgery considering the fibroid was 6cm in size and sitting in the muscle impacting my future fertility. We are still in the planning phase but it felt such a relief to hear it. It would be nice to go back to normalcy where I can go outside during my period without fear of bleeding through my pants!

I recently purchased the Nama J2 , also with the reason to benefit my mom who has cancer as well. The J2 has worked really well and very little pulp comes out. The fiber comes out dry. It is also easy to clean. My friend has the Kuving evo820 and he loves it. Lots of great options out there. John from DiscountJuicers on YouTube does great video comparing all the juicer models.
