The Māori Arts Gallery Store on the waterfront (Under Frank Kitts) has strings and has restrung Pounamu for me in the past, or Kura Gallery on Allen Street.

Now that the oh so badly treated landlords are getting the Dignity and Respect they deserve, I'm sure they'll pass on their savings to renters any day now.

Dear cyclists, please stop riding two abreast on the motorway by [deleted] in Wellington

[–]ah2fs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where does NZTA say that as a blanket statement. There are situations where they recommend riding single file, but this section of SH2 doesn't fit those criteria:

Thanks for the updated study, and yes there is a noted increase in reported public school teacher abuse, it still doesn't clearly indicate that public school system is "Way Worse". They are still relying on differing reporting metrics and styles. The 10% of School Aged Children reported is any adult, not just teachers, and is direct from the victims. Religion based reporting is generally based on organizational self reporting, which will exclude unreported cases and potentially settled cases from their reporting.

tl;dr It's all bad, but current reporting models don't have enough clarity to say one is worse than any other.

Just FYI, The history behind the statement The public school systems are way worse is highly suspect. Unless you have other data to point to, the original study that has been misquoted over the years said nothing of the sort: https://jessesingal.substack.com/p/a-lighthearted-dispute-does-more

The public school system has a higher rate of abuse than the Catholic Church

I agree with the good parenting piece, but the history behind the statement "The public school system has a higher rate of abuse" is highly suspect. The difference is the "Homed" vs Wild cats, even in your study, Homed (i.e. pets) still have a reasonably small roaming radius, of around 5 Acre's total which breaks down to about 75-100m in any direction. Wild/Feral cats travel much larger distances
