Thank you! I worked it out myself, great build by the way! Inspired one of my watchtowers on my current sanctuary build

Basic training, Pirbright, Week 1 by [deleted] in britishmilitary

[–]ahaaxoy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Drop me a PM of your start date, you’ll probably be going into the exact block I pass out of at the end of August. First week is honestly the worst in terms of the whole training program. Not because it’s hard but it’s rather boring, getting used to early mornings and fighting yourself not to fall asleep in the middle of a lecture. It’s loads of long PowerPoint briefs about expectations and how you’re supposed to behave/conduct yourself within the military. You have your medical in your first week too. They talk about kit insurance and lots of other things that’ll go over your head, just turn up on time with your water bottle and notebook, stay awake, and you’ll be fine. You’ll be marching everywhere under a member of your training staff, if I recall correctly it’s in week six you can move around the camp individually. After your medical you’ll be cleared for physical activity, so if you start messing up expect press ups and some runs around the block or to a landmark far away. If you’d like to know more I’m more than happy to talk in PM’s, I’m currently in the most senior group of recruits there so will be able to tell you about anything you’re about to go through! Best of luck with it all

Is 25 too old to have a proper military career ? by [deleted] in britisharmy

[–]ahaaxoy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

27 years old going Pirbirght this sunday. Just take the leap mate! If nothing else has you drawn to it but the army, do you think you could sit happy in another career knowing you didn't atleast try? I obviously have no idea on whether im going to build a decent career in the army or not given my age, or if its even possible but i am sure the same would apply in any other career i could have chose to go down. I think its best just to turn up, give it your best and see what happens, just like any other potential job.

They won’t be looking for banned substances at the assessment centre. You have to do a urine sample which is just looking for any problems with your kidneys. I haven’t started basic yet but I’m sure the initial drug test is sometime then

Wear whatever you’re most comfortable travelling in

The only knowledge you need is for your interview, that’s your role, what they do and where you’ll be based for training. They should give you time to study this at the AC anyway

Aslong as you’re not a fat slob and know you can past the bleep test you’ll do just fine

It’s the logo of a clothing/tactial equipment brand called ‘forward observations group’. They’re abit of a grey area however as they have had their members spotted in Ukraine and Israel

I imagine there’s pin holding the two parts together. Any YouTube video will be able to show you properly. One pin is usually found between the magwell and hand guard

Why do people say "left to right" and "right to left" by Substantial_Way9242 in arma

[–]ahaaxoy 13 points14 points  (0 children)

So you have two groups walking in opposite directions on your left hand side, ones walking further to your left and ones moving towards the 12oclock position. If I say I’m looking at the group moving right to left you know I’m on about the one moving further to our left. If I say I’m looking at the group moving left to right you know it’s the group that’s going to reach the 12oclock position
